This morning, December 9, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT), and the Provincial Veterans Association (CCB), organized a talk show "Carrying on the Tradition" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (1989 - 2024). More than 300 veterans, officers, soldiers of the armed forces, union members, youth, and students attended.

The program took place in a vibrant and meaningful atmosphere with special performances praising the love for the homeland and country and the image of soldiers with the noble mission of protecting the Fatherland; delegates reviewed the heroic historical tradition of the Vietnam People's Army; watched a report on the 80-year journey of building and growing the Vietnam People's Army, the process of building the armed forces and the national defense of Quang Tri province.
At the same time, we listened to the guests who are historical witnesses, military officers and soldiers, representatives of the education and training sector and the young generation share many stories, battles that left many memories and experiences in combat and work. Through the sharing of the previous generation, the young generation has drawn many valuable lessons to continue to strive and build the homeland and the country.
Speaking at the seminar, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Tran Thi Thu said that in recent years, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has worked with the Department of Education and Training and the Veterans Association to carry out many activities to educate about traditions; national defense and security for the younger generation. Deploying teams to protect border lines and landmarks, ensuring social order and security in residential areas. Propagating and mobilizing young people to volunteer to write applications to join the army, aiming to mobilize a large number of young people to participate in protecting the Fatherland.
Continuing the glorious tradition of our nation and army, today's young generation has been and is, together with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, accepting the mission of continuing to write brilliant golden pages of history to build our country to become increasingly rich and beautiful.

The seminar is an activity to demonstrate the morality of remembering the source of water, expressing gratitude for the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; contributing to the worthy continuation of the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.
On this occasion, the organizers presented 20 gifts, each including 1 bicycle and 1 gift to students who are children of war veterans with difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies.
