Provincial Party Committee directed investigation and verification

On June 7, the Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee gave opinions on verifying, investigating information and strictly handling the leak of 10th grade entrance exam questions for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee assigned the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to urgently investigate, verify information and strictly handle violations (if any) of relevant organizations and individuals according to the provisions of law. At the same time, report the results to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee before June 9.

As reported by the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper, on the evening of June 2, after the English exam for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year ended, on social networks such as Zalo and Facebook, there was public opinion that the English exam questions were leaked with a copy of the content similar to the English exam questions.

By June 4, the Department had worked with the teachers who created the English exam questions (including Mr. TTT, a teacher at Lien Viet Kon Tum Secondary and High School; Ms. PTH, a teacher at Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Kon Tum City. Ms. LTHL, a teacher at Truong Chinh High School, a seconded official working at the Department, was absent because she was working in Ho Chi Minh City).

At the meeting, Ms. PTH admitted that a student named H. (grade 9A, Nguyen Hue Secondary School, studying at Ms. H.'s home) took a photo of the test from the printer at Ms. H.'s home. At the same time, Ms. H. admitted her mistake in letting students take a photo of the draft test and affirmed that she did not copy or take a photo for the students.

Immediately afterwards, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province sent a document requesting the Provincial Police to support, investigate, and clarify the cause, related individuals, and scope of influence of the leak of the English exam questions - 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year.

On that basis, the Department of Education and Training will have a basis to report and submit to the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee to consider and adjust the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2023-2024 school year accordingly.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training of Kon Tum province also provided initial information such as: Images of the exam content online, clips related to the suspected leak of the English exam to officers of the Internal Political Security Department, Kon Tum Provincial Police.
