ATK (abbreviation for safe zone) Dinh Hoa was chosen as a resistance base in 1947. With rugged terrain and surrounding mountains and forests, this place became an important base serving President Ho Chi Minh and the Party Central Committee to work and direct the resistance war against French colonialism.
From ATK, many important strategic decisions were made, especially the Autumn-Winter campaign of 1953-1954 and the battle of Dien Bien Phu.
ATK Dinh Hoa includes many sites associated with revolutionary activities, typically Tin Keo hut, Khau Ty hill, Uncle Ho Memorial House and Presidential Palace relic. In addition, ATK Dinh Hoa also has many other relic sites such as Khuon Tat hut, Khuon Tat stream and a system of remaining trenches and fortifications.
