According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the construction project of passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport is basically meeting the planned progress.
Currently, the construction volume of items such as passenger terminal and high-rise parking garage are basically meeting the schedule.
According to ACV, package 11 (demolition, ground, pile foundation, public basement floor) started in December 2022 and by November 2023, the foundation work was completed and the entire site was handed over for package 12 (construction and installation of equipment for passenger terminal T3).
The construction and installation package of the T3 passenger terminal started in August 2023 and officially started in October 2023. To date, the construction volume of the passenger terminal (1 basement, 4 floors) has reached 90%; the parking lot (2 basements, 4 floors) has reached 82%. Items such as the UC electromechanical building (3 floors), the wastewater treatment plant have all reached 100%. For the aircraft parking area item, the work of removing organic soil and filling the foundation has been completed.
ACV also informed that the structural and finishing items such as steel frame, roof, glass wall, ceiling, and paving stone have completed the construction drawing design, some items are being processed at the factory and will be transferred to the construction site for installation according to schedule.
For technical systems such as baggage conveyors, passenger bridges, scanners, elevators, escalators, generators, electromechanical systems, air conditioning, fire protection and IT, the design of construction drawings has been completed. The company has signed a contract to import goods.
Some items such as electricity, water supply and drainage, air conditioning ducts, fire protection have been installed and are being installed to catch up with the construction progress of the rough part.
The project strives to complete the rough reinforced concrete structure of the passenger terminal by April 30 and the rough structure of the high-rise parking lot before June 15.
The project to build passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport has a total investment of more than 10,900 billion VND, building a passenger terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, expected to be put into operation on April 30, 2025.
When put into operation, Terminal T3 will have 90 airline check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage check-in counters and 42 automatic check-in counters applied in combination with the national population database for check-in procedures.
Terminal T3 will also have 27 boarding gates and 25 passenger security checkpoints. In particular, this terminal is designed with 8 security checkpoints and a separate area for VIP, business class and priority passengers.
