Since COVID-19, the business of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, owner of Huyen Nguyen Enterprise, in Ward 1, Dong Ha City, has been going smoothly. Diverse products, large distribution, low debt, employees are assured of long-term commitment to the enterprise, along with policies accompanying and supporting enterprises in administrative procedures, taxes... of the city's functional agencies implemented specifically and effectively are the things that make Ms. Huyen very excited.

“The government's clear and quick handling of administrative procedures, business conditions and taxes has created very favorable conditions for businesses to develop production and business activities. On Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day, October 13, or at the end of the year or the beginning of the year, leaders at all levels come to visit and encourage businesses or commend and reward businesses that pay a lot of taxes, which is also a great encouragement and motivation for us to confidently develop production and business activities,” said Ms. Huyen.

Ms. Huyen's sharing is also the common feeling of many businesses and business households in Dong Ha city.

According to information from the authorities, Dong Ha city currently has about 1,400 businesses and establishments operating in the fields of trade and services. Of these, there are 17 travel service businesses; 57 accommodation establishments, with 2 4-star hotels, 5 3-star hotels, 5 2-star hotels, basically meeting the travel and accommodation needs of tourists from near and far.

In addition, the Vincom Shophouse Royal Park Quang Tri commercial center and townhouse complex invested and developed by Vingroup in the southern Dong Ha area with a scale of 13.2 hectares including 523 shophouses, townhouses and a synchronous system of utilities and services has created an architectural highlight, expanding the urban space. Food and beverage services have been invested and expanded in scale with nearly 500 establishments.

Financial services, banking, telecommunications, insurance, transportation, accommodation, real estate business... continue to be effective, quality is improved, basically meeting the needs of society and the development of the city. Goods are abundant and diverse, well meeting production and consumption needs. Trade promotion, product introduction and promotion activities are focused. In 2024, the production value of Dong Ha's trade and service sector will reach 21,457.7 billion VND, an increase of 11.8% compared to 2023, accounting for nearly 68% of the total product value structure in the area.

To achieve the above results, the authorities at all levels of Dong Ha city have implemented many solutions. In particular, they pay special attention to promoting administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment to be open, transparent and equal. Raising awareness, responsibility and professional expertise of the staff, especially the staff directly handling administrative procedures for businesses and business households. Timely inspecting and correcting organizations and individuals showing signs of harassment and causing difficulties for businesses and people.

Focus on developing and implementing preferential policies for businesses investing in trade and services. Conduct a review, assess the current situation and complete the planning and development plan for trade and services in the area; prioritize land funds and create favorable conditions for businesses and individuals to invest in supermarkets, shopping centers, large-scale accommodation and catering establishments.

Develop and implement policies to encourage and support businesses and individual business households to invest in developing trade and services, with a focus on supporting businesses operating in the fields of tourism, logistics, etc. Strengthen the organization of activities to promote potential, advantages, preferential investment policies and call on domestic and foreign businesses to implement projects on trade and services.

Actively implement activities to stimulate trade and consumption. Promote administrative reform, create favorable conditions for businesses to invest in trade and services. Regularly inspect and strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate the law, create discipline and a healthy and equal investment and business environment...

“In order for trade and services to develop faster and contribute more and more importantly to the development of the provincial capital, the city should pay attention to supporting and consulting businesses in building business strategies, product strategies, applying science and technology; consulting on building, managing and promoting brands, and applying quality management systems.

Focus on calling for investment in building a number of key projects in services, tourism, trade centers, logistics, and urban areas. Promote the formation of professional distributors; form a synchronous and harmonious wholesale and retail system that meets the needs of society.
