On the evening of March 31 (the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month), at the Phu Day Historical and Cultural Relic Site, Kim Thai Commune, Vu Ban District, Nam Dinh Province, the Phu Day Festival of the Year of the Snake 2025 officially opened, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Ha Lan Anh, Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Nam Dinh is the place where the Vietnamese people's practice of worshipping the Mother Goddesses of the Three Realms originated, converged, and spread, which was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The organization of the Phu Day Festival annually aims to promote, preserve, maintain and develop the value of the homeland's cultural heritage associated with the development of spiritual tourism.

The festival integrates many historical values, cultural beliefs and folk culture typical of the rice-growing agricultural residents of the Northern Delta, and indigenous beliefs of the Vietnamese people.

Phu Day Festival is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, famous for its Chau Van-Hau Dong ritual, a typical religious ritual of the Mother Goddess religion.

Every year during the festival season, the Phu Day Historical and Cultural Relic Complex attracts a large number of believers and tourists from all over the world to practice spiritual beliefs according to the Mother Goddess worship custom and visit and admire a unique architectural complex including more than 20 temples, palaces, pagodas, and mausoleums worshiping the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh, the head deity in the Mother Goddess worship system (Tam Phu, Tu Phu) of the Vietnamese people, and also one of the "Four Immortals" in Vietnamese folklore.

The Phu Day Festival 2025 will be held from March 31 to April 5 (from the 3rd to the 8th of the third lunar month) with rich traditional cultural activities such as: Chau Van singing festival, Mau Thinh Kinh procession from Phu Van Cat to Linh Son Tu pagoda, torch procession at Phu Tien Huong, human chess competition, word arrangement, flower pulling festival...

According to Mr. Do Van Ky, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, the Organizing Committee has deployed plans to ensure security and safety for people and tourists, strengthen inspections, and strictly handle "price gouging" services, superstition, and disguised gambling.

At the same time, the Organizing Committee requires the management units of temples, pagodas, and mausoleums in the relic complex to absolutely not organize activities that go against traditional customs and traditions, and to focus on building healthy and civilized festivals.
