With the promotion of digital transformation and the development of smart tourism, the image of “Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance” is increasingly spreading to domestic and international tourist markets. Through that, many destinations and businesses have gradually affirmed their professionalism and brought many experiences and conveniences to tourists.

Last November, Hong Duc University cooperated with Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association to organize a training program "Improving management capacity according to the digital transformation model in tourism in Thanh Hoa province". The program focused on a number of contents, such as: building and managing digital marketing activities in tourism; applying digital and innovating tourism products, maximizing customer experience; operating tourism business models in the context of digital transformation; experiencing and consulting on digital transformation in tourism businesses... Thereby, contributing to orienting and supporting tourism businesses to improve management quality, exploit data better, approach customers more easily, and at the same time improve the competitiveness of businesses.

Permanent Vice President of Thanh Hoa City Tourism Association, Pham Tien Hai said: “Up to now, tourism service businesses in Thanh Hoa City have basically completed digital transformation in management, product development and customer approach. Digital technology applications have helped travel businesses in particular and tourism service businesses in general optimize all activities and better approach the customer market. However, the application of digital technology and smart tourism applications still has many limitations. We hope that the training program is an opportunity for businesses to continue researching and transforming the way they approach and take care of customers through online platforms and digital technology. Aiming to use smart tourism applications, developing quality products to optimize the experience for tourists”.

Up to now, most tourism businesses in the province have put into use websites or social networking sites to promote their images and products; accept cashless online payments. For 4-5 star accommodation establishments, management software has been used, integrating amenities from accommodation, dining, swimming pools and other accompanying services into the room card. This helps customers proactively use the service, while reducing personnel and closely controlling all stages.

Vinpearl Thanh Hoa, Ngo Huu Nhut said: “We have applied digital technology to all stages, from human resource management to providing services to customers. Currently, all check-in and check-out procedures are carried out quickly and conveniently through Staff app & Esign software. When guests check in, they will be provided with a room card that has been fully integrated with the services that guests register and use when staying here. Guests only need to scan the room card to go to the registered floor; at the same time, using services such as: spa, swimming, gym, breakfast... will skip the steps of registration or declaring room number information as before. Thereby, bringing guests privacy and convenience, helping the hotel reduce staff, improving service quality".

In order to truly transform digital into a new driving force for tourism development, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has actively coordinated with relevant departments, branches and units to deploy digitalization and apply Smart Travel at 8 tourist areas and destinations (Lam Kinh Historical Relic Site, Ho Dynasty Citadel Cultural Heritage Site, Nua - Am Tien Temple Historical and Cultural Relic Site, Pu Luong Community Ecotourism Area, Ma Village Community Ecotourism Area, May Waterfall, Song Son Temple, Cua Dat Temple). At the same time, 71 tourist areas and destinations and 25 tourist accommodation establishments have been digitized, updated to the exploitation management application software and tourism database of Thanh Hoa province (at the link http://csdl.thanhhoa.travel). Nearly 1,000 news, articles, videos and images promoting "Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance" have been posted on the Thanh Hoa provincial tourism website (at the link http://thanhhoa.travel). In addition, tourists can visit Thanh Hoa tourism portal (http://dulichthanhhoa.org) to learn more about products, travel schedules... and reflect on tourism quality.

Aiming to improve service quality and develop smart tourism, Thanh Hoa province has been focusing on implementing a number of solutions such as: perfecting mechanisms and policies for smart tourism development; building a tourism database; deploying smart tourism applications in tourist areas and destinations; promoting tourism on digital media platforms... Along with that, tourism businesses in the province need to be more proactive in applying tourism applications and software in management and product development based on digital platforms, contributing to increasing experiences, bringing convenience and satisfaction to tourists when using the service.
