Việt NamViệt Nam20/12/2024

DNO - On the morning of December 20, the City's Agriculture and Forestry Extension Center (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) organized a workshop on "Current situation and solutions for urban agricultural development in Da Nang city" with the participation of nearly 100 delegates.

Speaking at the workshop, Director of the City’s Agriculture and Forestry Extension Center Dang Van Hong said that Da Nang has great potential in developing urban agriculture. Accordingly, urban agriculture models not only help provide clean food for city residents, but also contribute to environmental protection, improve quality of life and create sustainable economic value.

However, there are still many challenges to develop urban agriculture effectively and sustainably such as: limited land fund, the need to convert from traditional agriculture to new models...

At the workshop, delegates discussed and presented their ideas on solutions for urban agriculture development in Da Nang to gain a comprehensive view of effective urban agriculture models, the application of advanced technology and ways to build sustainable support policies. At the same time, optimize land use, promote rural-urban connectivity, and encourage community and business participation.

In addition, the development of urban agriculture associated with factors such as water saving, reusing agricultural waste, minimizing negative impacts on the environment and improving labor productivity were also discussed at the workshop.
