At the invitation of the Confederation of Thai Journalists (CTJ), a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) led by comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, paid a working visit to Thailand from November 25-29.


On the afternoon of November 28, during a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung, comrade Le Quoc Minh informed about Vietnam's socio-economic development situation in recent times as well as VJA's professional activities in 2024.

One of the goals that VJA is implementing is to provide professional training for young reporters to apply new technologies to the news and article production process. VJA also opens many professional training courses on preventing harmful information on cyberspace, preventing fake news as well as inaccurate information.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh said that during this working trip, VJA and CTJ reached a number of agreements within the framework of annual cooperation as well as in some specific aspects. Comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed that cooperation between Vietnamese and Thai press agencies is increasingly developing strongly and going into depth. In particular, the two sides will promote cooperation in professional expertise as well as exchange of reporter delegations in 2025 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung informed comrade Le Quoc Minh and the VJA delegation about the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand; affirmed that he would provide the highest level of support and attention to the permanent offices of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency and Voice of Vietnam in Thailand.

The VJA delegation also met with reporters from the resident agencies of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency and Voice of Vietnam in Thailand. At the meeting, comrade Le Quoc Minh informed about the operation of VJA and gave instructions on professional work and foreign journalism to reporters from the three resident press agencies in Thailand.

During this visit and working session in Thailand, the delegations of VJA and CTJ had talks and achieved many results in enhancing professional cooperation between the two associations, notably training and exchanging journalism skills in the fields of language, techniques, and field journalism skills, especially in the event of natural disasters, storms and floods, as well as discussing the enhancement of cultural and sports exchanges.

VJA and CTJ agreed to diversify cooperation activities with diverse activities in sports, culture and arts exchanges on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

During meetings and working sessions with leaders of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed the good relationship with Thai media agencies; said that in 2025, VJA will have large-scale cooperation activities with CTJ with breakthrough cooperation activities.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh said that he is ready to cooperate more deeply with the Thai press; he believes that the press of the two countries need to strengthen cooperation, learn from each other about experiences and lessons in communication work to jointly inform and promote the images of the two countries, contributing to promoting understanding between the people of Vietnam and Thailand.

During the working sessions with the Mass Media Corporation of Thailand (MCOT), The Standard Newspaper, Matichon Newspaper Group, representing different types of newspapers in Thailand, comrade Le Quoc Minh and the VJA delegation learned and exchanged experiences in the management and operation of media corporations as well as digital newsrooms with an open, direct, online communication style, oriented to specific audiences, seeking sources to ensure a balanced budget while still maintaining communication values ​​with accurate and responsive information.

At Matichon Newspaper Group, the most prestigious newspaper in Thailand, focusing on in-depth coverage of politics and economics, comrade Le Quoc Minh and the VJA delegation learned how to operate a print newspaper in parallel with an online newspaper as well as digital content distributed on social platforms. This newspaper also has many subsidiary publications, both print and online, in Thailand, providing information in both Thai and English.

Also during this working trip, the VJA delegation led by comrade Le Quoc Minh had working sessions in Chonburi province, worked with Pattaya City Mayor Poramase Ngampiches, visited a number of economic groups as well as learned about a number of major tourist centers that are currently attracting many Vietnamese tourists when traveling in Thailand.
