In recent times, in order to achieve the goal of soon turning Thua Thien-Hue province into a centrally-run city according to Resolution 54 of the Politburo, the province has implemented many solutions, focusing on removing obstacles, speeding up the progress of urban infrastructure and traffic infrastructure projects to plan urban space well and invest in infrastructure that meets the standards of a centrally-run city.
In particular, Thua Thien-Hue is prioritizing the acceleration of the implementation of economic and technical infrastructure development projects, especially urban infrastructure projects and transport infrastructure projects with connectivity and spillover, in order to soon complete infrastructure structures.

In particular, the transport infrastructure is being invested in quite synchronously. Key projects managed by the province are being actively implemented such as: Coastal road section through Thua Thien Hue province and bridge over Thuan An estuary; Nguyen Hoang road and Huong river overpass; Phu My - Thuan An road; road west of Tam Giang lagoon - Cau Hai (Phu My - Phu Da section) ... These projects, when completed, will basically meet the requirements of connecting the central urban area and satellite cities, creating momentum and spreading the socio-economic development of the province.
In addition to transport infrastructure, the province is also simultaneously implementing large urban infrastructure improvement projects such as the Type II Urban Development Program (green cities) - Thua Thien Hue sub-project; Improving the Water Environment of Hue City... At the same time, the projects of Ring Road 3 and To Huu Street extended to Phu Bai Airport are also being accelerated to complete investment procedures to ensure they start as planned.
However, difficulties in site clearance are still the biggest bottleneck in the implementation of investment projects to complete infrastructure in Thua Thien-Hue. Especially in the period of 2021-2025, the province continues to focus on implementing projects with a large volume of compensation and resettlement of residents such as Relocation of residents, site clearance of area 1 of Hue Citadel relic; Coastal road and bridge over Thuan An estuary, Nguyen Hoang Street and Huong River overpass along with other urban infrastructure projects.
Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People's Committee shared that in order to remove difficulties and obstacles, the Province has synchronously and drastically implemented many solutions to handle and remove them. The Province has established 04 Working Groups with the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee as Team Leaders, Directors of Departments as members to guide, urge, inspect, supervise, and handle obstacles to speed up the progress of project implementation; organize weekly meetings, work with investors and increase the frequency of on-site inspections to review, urge, detect, and remove difficulties and obstacles arising in each project.

The Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People's Committee added that the province has also directed investors to issue implementation plans for each project, strengthen coordination and have plans to support localities in site clearance. Local leaders are required to consider site clearance for public investment projects as an important task for local socio-economic development.
"For projects that are behind schedule, the province has directed investors to request contractors to mobilize maximum human resources and machinery to speed up progress; at the same time, penalize contractors that are behind schedule and show signs of irresponsibility during the construction process," Mr. Hoang Hai Minh emphasized.
