On November 24, Hue City Police (Thua Thien - Hue) announced that they had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Ngo Quoc Tri (29 years old, residing in Duc Ward, Hue City) for his involvement in the act of calling for charity to defraud and appropriate property.

According to the case file, around the end of November 2022, when he learned that the family of Ms. PTT (62 years old, residing in Huong So Ward, Hue City) had a relative who passed away and was in difficult circumstances, Tri took the information and posted it on Facebook to call for charity, under the name of the leader of the group "Hearts connecting youth volunteers 3-9".
From November 30, 2022 to December 7, 2022, Tri called for and received VND 8.1 million from donors but appropriated and spent it for personal use.
Upon receiving the information, the Hue City Police Department's Social Order Crime Investigation Team investigated and clarified Ngo Quoc Tri's fraudulent property appropriation.
Regarding this case, the Hue City People's Procuracy informs anyone who has been scammed by Tri (with the above mentioned method) to contact the Hue City People's Procuracy or the Hue City Police Department of Investigation for guidance on how to handle the case.
