After a series of draws and losses, SLNA changed coaches and the Vinh stadium team had an important victory against Ho Chi Minh City Club.

Playing more coherently than the visitors, SLNA scored 2 goals quite early in the 18th and 23rd minutes thanks to the two foreign players Olaha and Soladio. However, the home team was reduced the score by the visitors in the 36th minute with a great shot from very far away by Hoang Vu Samson.

With this victory, the team of new coach Phan Nhu Thuat rose to 10th place, pushing Ho Chi Minh City Club down to second to last place with 7 points.

Speaking after the match, coach Vu Tien Thanh admitted that SLNA played well and his players lost too early. Mr. Thanh complained about the referee when he said that Masaray's attack right before the 16.50m line was fouled by SLNA's Dinh Hoang but the referee did not blow the whistle.

"We tried very hard. The referee should have given a red card to the SLNA player. If the referee had given that penalty, we don't know what would have happened and we might have got a point. When the referee gives that penalty, it frustrates the players," said Mr. Thanh.

The coach of Ho Chi Minh City Club also said that losing this match would push his team to the second to last place in the rankings, but he was not pessimistic because "in the short term, there are two more matches in the first leg and the opponent is also worthy, Ho Chi Minh City Club is playing at home so we will try to get points".

The defense with the contribution of Vytas made it difficult for coach Vu Tien Thanh's team against SLNA.

Meanwhile, new coach Phan Nhu Thuat said he would "sleep better" after SLNA had this important victory. "I am very satisfied because the whole team tried to play well until the last minute."

Regarding SLNA's goal, coach Phan Nhu Thuat said: "We will have to try harder to stay in the league. I like the school of playing tight defense, counterattacking quickly to score goals. Winning this match, we have 12 points. However, the team still has many problems to overcome and we will try to improve," Mr. Thuat shared.
