Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico was injured in a shooting that followed a government meeting in the capital Bratislava.
On May 15, Slovakia's TASR news agency reported that the country's Prime Minister, Mr. Robert Fico, was injured in a shooting that occurred after a government meeting in the capital Bratislava. He was taken to the hospital for health assessment.
TASR quoted Vice President of the Slovak Parliament Lubos Blaha as confirming that Mr. Fico was wounded by a bullet.
A Reuters witness said he heard several gunshots and saw a man being arrested by police.
Immediately after the incident, President Zuzana Čaputová condemned the "brutal" attack on Prime Minister Fico and wished him a speedy recovery.
