Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives leaders of Samsung Vietnam

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam and his successor Na Ki Hong, to discuss Samsung's investment and development strategy in Vietnam.

On the afternoon of February 12, at the Government Headquarters, receiving Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam and his successor, Mr. Na Ki Hong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked Mr. Choi Joo Ho for his contributions to the development of Samsung Vietnam and the Vietnam-Korea relationship; congratulated and asked his successor Na Ki Hong to continue and effectively implement Samsung's investment strategies and plans in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mr. Choi Joo Ho and Mr. Na Ki Hong said that Samsung is currently the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam, with a total registered investment capital of 23.2 billion USD.

In 2024, revenue and exports will reach 62.5 billion USD and 54.4 billion USD, respectively. Since 2014, the Group has increased the total number of Vietnamese suppliers to 306 enterprises.

Along with that, Samsung Vietnam has implemented many projects to support hundreds of Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises in business innovation, smart factory development, training consultants, mold experts, etc.

Thanking the Vietnamese Government, especially the Prime Minister, for always paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Samsung to invest, produce and do business effectively in Vietnam; stating that along with investing in traditional fields, in the coming time, Samsung will continue to expand its investment in Vietnam in new fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry, actively participating in the digital transformation process in Vietnam..., Mr. Choi Joo Ho and Mr. Na Ki Hong asked the Prime Minister and ministries and branches to continue to support the Group's investment and business activities in Vietnam.

Appreciating the efforts, determination and business results of Samsung Group as well as the effective and active support and accompaniment of General Director Choi Joo Ho during his two working terms in Vietnam, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of Vietnam, as well as promoting the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Korea, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hoped that in any position, Mr. Choi Joo Ho would continue to contribute to the development of Samsung Vietnam, the development process of Vietnam and foster the Vietnam-Korea relationship; congratulated and requested the successor of General Director of Samsung Vietnam Na Ki Hong to continue and effectively implement investment strategies and plans in Vietnam, in order to take advantage of opportunities and accompany the development momentum of Vietnam, bringing Samsung and Vietnam to develop in the coming time.

Welcoming and supporting the Group's plan to deploy production and business activities in Vietnam in the coming time; on the basis of the strongly developing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Korea, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will continue to accompany and create favorable conditions for the Group to invest in sustainable, effective and successful business in Vietnam, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks," "listening, understanding together; sharing vision and action together; working together, enjoying together, winning together and developing together."

Wishing to have Vietnamese people in the Board of Directors of Samsung Vietnam, the Prime Minister asked Samsung Group to support Vietnam in further improving the capacity of domestic enterprises so that they can participate more effectively in the Group's global production and supply chains; and promote cooperation to make Vietnamese digital technology enterprises partners in Samsung's ecosystem.

The Prime Minister asked Samsung to closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and agencies to substantially and effectively deploy training centers located at the Vietnam National Innovation Center; increase investment and expand the Research and Development (R&D) center, support start-up and innovation activities in Vietnam; continue to maintain its leading position, become a strategic investor, promote the development of supporting industries, semiconductor chips, promote the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in Vietnam.

Informing that Vietnam continues to improve the investment environment, promote three strategic breakthroughs, strive to achieve 8% growth in 2025 and double-digit growth in the coming time, the Prime Minister hopes and believes that Samsung will grow accordingly, entering a new era with Vietnam./.
