Prime Minister directs early announcement of 2025 high school graduation exam plan

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training to focus on perfecting the legal framework to implement education and training innovation, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education, prioritizing the development of the Law on Teachers; education development strategy, planning the network of higher education and pedagogical institutions.

In particular, the Ministry of Education and Training will soon announce the high school graduation exam plan from 2025 so that teachers and students have a direction for teaching, learning and exam preparation, creating peace of mind for parents. "This is an issue that has received the attention of many teachers, students and parents. Innovating exams and recognizing graduation, ensuring seriousness, simplicity, reducing pressure and improving quality," the Prime Minister requested.

To help teachers feel secure in their profession

Regarding other contents, the Prime Minister basically agreed with the report of the Ministry of Education and Training and the opinions of the delegates at the conference. On the eve of the new school year, on August 16, the Prime Minister signed Official Dispatch No. 747 on ensuring timely textbooks and teaching staff for the 2023-2024 school year, assigning specific tasks to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and localities to study and organize implementation.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to continue researching, perfecting and developing the 2018 General Education Program in line with the goals and requirements set out in the country's new period. At the same time, urgently complete the compilation of electronic textbooks, ethnic minority language textbooks, and test and use Braille books for the visually impaired.

The Ministry of Finance coordinates with the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant ministries and sectors to have financial solutions to support teachers in remote areas, preschool teachers, equip facilities, supplement teaching equipment that is lacking or degraded, ensuring savings, efficiency, and suitability for each locality.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training and localities coordinate to inspect and review the recruitment of additional teachers for localities in the period of 2022 - 2026, ensuring the principle of "where there are students, there must be teachers in the classroom"; promptly commend, reward and encourage exemplary teachers. Continue to study mechanisms and policies for incentives so that teachers can confidently stick with their profession.
