On the afternoon of April 15, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that in more than 93,820 exams, the average score of candidates was 643.4/1,200. Only 80 students achieved over 1,000 points.
The highest score of the candidate was 1,076 points, 57 points lower than the top scorer of this exam last year.
Evaluating the score spectrum, Mr. Chinh commented that the score range is wide, demonstrating the ability to classify candidates well, which is favorable for the selection process.

The first round of the competency assessment exam was held by Ho Chi Minh City National University a week ago with nearly 94,000 candidates, a record high since the exam was first held in 2018.
The first round was held in 24 localities. Thua Thien - Hue, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh are three new testing locations, in addition to 21 localities as last year: Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu.
The exam results are currently used by 105 universities and colleges for admissions.
From April 16 to May 7, Ho Chi Minh City National University will open the second round of capacity assessment test registration portal, and candidates will begin registering their admission wishes using their 2024 capacity assessment test scores.
The second round of the 2024 capacity assessment exam will be held by Ho Chi Minh City National University in coordination with other units on the morning of June 2 in 14 provinces and cities: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tien Giang, An Giang and expected in Ca Mau. The school will announce the results of this round on June 10.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh added: "This year, Ho Chi Minh City National University will reserve at least 45% of its total admission quota for the capacity assessment test. The test results are used by more than 100 universities and colleges for admission. The increasing trust of candidates and universities and colleges has affirmed the quality of the test. Similar to previous years, candidates can take both rounds. The higher result of the round will be used for admission."
