The valedictorian of block D01 of this year's high school graduation exam is Nguyen Phuong Linh, a student of class 12A12, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, Vinh Phuc province.
Phuong Linh got a perfect score of 10 in English, 9 in math and 9.75 in literature. In other subjects, the female student also got impressive scores such as: 9 in history, 9.75 in geography and 9.5 in civics.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Phuong Linh said that when she knew her exam results, she was very "shocked". At that time, she called her mother and cried loudly because she could not control her happiness at the moment.

Linh said that in the two previous provincial exams, she was also valedictorian, but she did not think she would also be valedictorian in the 2024 high school graduation exam, because the exam questions were national.
Sharing her study secrets, Linh said she doesn't take on everything at once but sets short-term goals within 1-2 months to complete the goal.
For example, I want to focus on IELTS preparation in which stage, focus on completing my application to some universities in which stage, and focus on graduation exam in which stage...
"Perhaps I learned part of the clear schedule for all the above activities from my mother. She can balance work and family very well, so I study when I study and play when I play," Linh said.
According to this female student, outside of school hours, she mainly studies by herself and often searches for additional study materials online, learns foreign languages through movies, books, or listens to foreign friends talk through videos.
Responding to Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Cao Thi Phuong Lan, Phuong Linh's mother, was very surprised when her daughter was the valedictorian of block D01.
She said she never put any pressure on her child to study. Her child herself did not study hard. Even in the 10th grade entrance exam, she encouraged her child that she did not have to get a high score, no matter which school she attended, her parents would support her. And then her child passed Vinh Phuc Specialized School.

"I told my child that there are many paths to success, including life experiences, not just books. So in addition to learning knowledge, my child learns to play the piano, learns to sing...
I advised my child to study all subjects equally because a 10-point subject cannot pull up a 6-point subject, so my child studied all subjects equally. In particular, he did not go to extra classes but focused on listening to the teachers' lectures at school.
At school, the literature teacher always accompanies and monitors the child's progress and does not let him "sink". Whenever she sees him slacking off, she pulls him up," said Ms. Lan.
It is known that in grade 11, Phuong Linh achieved 8.0 IELTS. She is also the class monitor of class 12A12, Head of Human Resources of Vinh Phuc Specialized English Club, Head of E-Boost SS Communications...

Currently, Phuong Linh has won a 75% tuition scholarship from British University Vietnam - BUV, a 50% tuition scholarship from Fulbright University, a 250 million VND scholarship from Swinburne University and a 75% tuition scholarship from VinUni University.
Phuong Linh said she has no intention of falling in love or studying abroad anytime soon. If possible, she will study abroad after university, but for now, she will choose VinUni because she believes this is the right environment for her.
Commenting on her "all-round talented" student, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, literature teacher and homeroom teacher, said that Phuong Linh had won second and third prizes in the provincial excellent student competition. The female student had also achieved an IELTS score of 8.0 and had won a Silver Medal in the previous national English Olympiad on the internet.
As a class monitor, Phuong Linh is always active in all activities, especially piano and photography.
