On the morning of September 15, according to the Kien Giang Maritime Port Authority, due to bad weather at sea, ships and ferries from the mainland to Phu Quoc City, Nam Du Island and vice versa have temporarily stopped operating until further notice.
The speedboats must anchor.
Accordingly, ships and ferries on routes from Rach Gia City and Ha Tien City to Phu Quoc City and Nam Du Island and vice versa have temporarily stopped operating.
Inland waterway routes near the shore from Rach Gia city to Hon Tre and Hon Son islands; routes from Ha Tien city to Tien Hai, Kien Luong to Hon Nghe and vice versa are still operating normally.
A representative of a shipping company said that after receiving the notice from Kien Giang Maritime Port Authority, the unit promptly notified passengers to arrange their schedules.
For passengers who have paid 100% of the ticket price, the airline offers two options: refund or change the ticket to the next operating day.
According to the shipping lines, due to the rainy and stormy season, ferries have temporarily stopped running twice since the beginning of September. There are very few tourists going to and from the islands, so the number of passengers stuck in Rach Gia and Phu Quoc is insignificant. Only local tourists go in and out to do business or visit relatives, so they are very proactive in their travel.
Ships at Rach Gia port had to temporarily stop going to the island due to bad weather.
Trains are often suspended during the rainy season, so companies plan to proactively return tickets as usual as in previous periods.
