Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Phuong Nam Hospital (Phu My Hung Urban Area, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) on March 16, Mr. Dinh Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health (Ministry of Health) said that taking care of people's health is the top priority. And socializing health care is a major and correct policy to mobilize more social resources to invest in this field. Thanks to that, the private health system was born and contributed more and more, pioneering the development of high technology.
"The emergence of the private healthcare system creates a healthy competitive environment, improving the quality of services and patient care," said Mr. Tuan.
Phuong Nam Hospital in Phu My Hung Urban Area has just been inaugurated.
According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, by mid-2023, Ho Chi Minh City will have 12 ministerial hospitals, 10 city general hospitals, 12 specialized hospitals, and 19 district hospitals.
In the private healthcare system alone, there are currently nearly 70 hospitals, 234 general clinics and a system of specialized clinics.
In Phu My Hung urban area, there are currently 3 large private hospitals operating: FV Hospital, Tam Duc Heart Hospital and Phuong Nam Hospital.
Phuong Nam Hospital is the 4th hospital of Phuong Chau Medical Group with key specialties such as obstetrics, pediatrics, IVF, gynecology, andrology... The hospital has a scale of 120 beds.
The leader of Phuong Chau Medical Group said that before establishing Phuong Nam Hospital, the system's 3 hospitals in the Mekong Delta (Can Tho, Soc Trang and Dong Thap) had witnessed more than 33,000 healthy babies being born, of which nearly 4,000 babies were born from assisted reproductive techniques and infertility treatment with a success rate of 66.6%.
