In recent times, with effective programs and projects to invest in developing rural transport infrastructure combined with efforts to mobilize local budgets, businesses and people, the rural transport infrastructure system of Thanh Son district has become increasingly spacious, creating favorable conditions for the exchange of goods between regions and people's travel.
Thanh Son is a mountainous district of the province, with a natural area of 62,110.4 hectares, terrain conditions divided by many rivers and streams with steep slopes; unsynchronized infrastructure, complex geological terrain, high investment rates for projects; uneven and unconcentrated population. However, with the attention of the Party and the State through effective investment projects combined with efforts to mobilize local budgets, contributions from the people and businesses, the transport infrastructure system is increasingly improved.
Provincial Road 317C, 3km long, from Thang Son Commune (Thanh Son District) to Hoang Xa Commune (Thanh Thuy District) was invested and put into use, contributing to convenient travel and trade between the two localities.
Results of rural traffic development in the district, from 2021 to August 2024, there were 20km of new roads; 71km of renovated and upgraded roads; 63.68%/74% of commune and inter-commune roads were hardened; 54.66%/73% of village and hamlet roads were hardened; 66.76%/76% of alley roads were hardened; 23.74%/69% of main intra-field roads were hardened; 8.2/12 km of maintained roads. 16 new bridges/192.0m; 4 new spillways/196.0m; 2 repaired spillways/110.0m, 230 newly built culverts/2231.35m... In addition, over 33km of cement concrete roads were completed to develop rural traffic, with a total implementation cost of 34,722 billion VND.
To achieve that result, the District Economic and Infrastructure Department has actively advised the District People's Committee to develop a Plan to implement Resolution No. 08-NQ/HU, dated April 2, 2021 of the District Party Committee on Rural Transport Development for the period 2021-2025, and at the same time set out goals, tasks and solutions to implement the Resolution's targets. Coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor, inspect and urge the implementation of the plan; arising issues and difficulties during the implementation process. Focus on propagating and mobilizing people to participate in the construction, maintenance, repair and protection of traffic works in the area.
Comrade Vu Trong Duc - Head of the District Economic and Infrastructure Department said: Every year, the Department advises the District People's Committee to directly direct and integrate the direction of the People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen the management and protection of road traffic infrastructure in the inspection, supervision, and signing of agreements on ensuring traffic safety right from the beginning of the year; regularly carry out maintenance and protection of traffic works in the specific management area such as: Clearing trees that obscure visibility, dredging sewers to ensure drainage, handling locations that are pushed or eroded on the roadbed when it rains... Regularly send technical staff to inspect the quality of works, promptly repair and fix damage to works before, during and after the rainy season.
In addition, training and coaching for traffic management staff at district and commune levels is very necessary. Regularly instruct traffic management staff at commune level on the management and classification of the current status of rural road systems in the area; instruct on the management of traffic safety corridors for managed routes.
At the same time, the overall quality of the existing road infrastructure system in the area is mainly grade V, grade VI roads... Therefore, rural roads have been focused on investment, renovation and upgrading in recent times. However, with limited capital resources and the need to harden major roads, many roads have not been upgraded, oversized and overloaded vehicles have damaged the roads, especially the rural roads of the district, leading to poor road quality and deterioration. The bridges on rural roads have been built for a long time, so the bridge load is low, not meeting the current load of transport vehicles.
Rural roads in Son Hung commune have been invested and upgraded to be green, clean and beautiful, creating a new look for the locality.
In the coming years, the district will continue to strengthen the management and maintenance of works after investment to promote the effectiveness of the works. Strengthen the management, inspection and supervision in the process of investing in the construction of rural traffic works, especially promoting the role of community supervision in residential areas. Make the most of the support capital from the Central and the province, effectively integrate programs and projects such as: National Target Program on New Rural Construction, National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas... and mobilize resources from the people in many different forms. From there, the appearance of rural traffic in Thanh Son district will be increasingly improved.
