Quang Ninh youth aspire to reach high

TPO – On October 19-20, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh, the 7th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ninh Province, term 2024-2029, took place.

Attending the congress, on the side of the Central Youth Union, there were Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.

On the side of Quang Ninh province, there were Mr. Cao Tuong Huy - Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province, Head of Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and 220 outstanding delegates representing more than 260,000 union members and youth of Quang Ninh province.

The congress opened with performances praising Quang Ninh province and the pioneering spirit of young people in the mining area with the theme "Aspirations of Quang Ninh youth in the new era".

Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hieu - Member of the Central Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Central Youth Solidarity Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Youth Union presented flowers to congratulate the Congress.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union suggested that in the next term, the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ninh province needs to build a new generation of Quang Ninh youth to develop comprehensively through the movement "I love my Fatherland". With the development orientation of Quang Ninh province, in order to implement this important political orientation and task, the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ninh province needs to invest in researching more synchronous and effective solutions to implement the movement "I love my Fatherland". Through the movement, young people understand the flow of history and culture to make a solid foundation to build their aspirations to rise high.

The Congress was attended by 137 male and 83 female delegates; 155 delegates were members of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and 46 delegates were ethnic minorities. In terms of qualifications, 125 delegates had university degrees, 50 had master's degrees, and 1 had a doctorate. The average age was 31.3 years old, with the youngest delegate being 17 years old and the oldest delegate being 44 years old.

During the 12th term, the youth generation of Quang Ninh determined to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism through the movement "I love my Fatherland" and carry out specific campaigns and actions such as Quang Ninh youth taking the initiative and volunteering for community life; Quang Ninh youth participating in preserving and promoting national cultural identity, developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity; Quang Ninh youth uniting and integrating; Quang Ninh youth being creative and starting a business...

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy praised the very important and comprehensive achievements and results in all aspects of the work of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ninh Province during the past term. The Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and organizations to pay special attention to the youth, trust in the youth, assign the youth important tasks and responsibilities, regularly care for, monitor, help, and create conditions for the youth to contribute and mature.

Many presentations by delegates attending the Congress were given such as "Promoting the role of youth in participating in developing culture and people with rich Quang Ninh identity, associated with implementing community tourism models" by Ha Long City Youth Union; "Solutions to connect Young Entrepreneurs Association members in accompanying and supporting young people to start businesses and develop the local economy" by Uong Bi Startup Club... The presentations focused especially on the youth movement to start businesses, innovate, participate in scientific research activities and economic development.

The Congress elected a delegation of 44 members of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Ninh province for the 7th term, 2024-2029 term. Mr. Nguyen The Minh - Deputy Secretary in charge of the Provincial Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province for the 11th term, 2019-2024 term, holds the position of President of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province for the 12th term, 2024-2029 term.

At the Congress, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province awarded many certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of the Union and the youth movement, term 2019 - 2024. The Central Council of the Young Pioneers also decided to support the children and youth of Quang Ninh province who suffered damage due to storm No. 3 with many artifacts, totaling 610 million VND.
