According to Dan Tri reporters, the small concrete road leading to Mr. Ho Huu C.'s house (in Hao Duc village, Nhon An commune) has never been as gloomy and mournful as it is today. Crowds of people came to visit, everyone was filled with sorrow. In front of the alley, neighbors placed charity boxes to collect money for funeral expenses for the unfortunate people.
According to locals, C. used to be a very good student, graduated from a university in Ho Chi Minh City and only became mentally ill a few years ago.
Since becoming mentally ill, C. has been very gentle, occasionally having fits but has not harmed his relatives or neighbors. However, it is unclear why such a heartbreaking incident happened this morning.

"When the incident happened, it was raining heavily and I was lying inside watching TV so I didn't know anything. When the rain stopped, I heard noise outside, I opened the door to see and saw many people, including the police force.
Looking over at Mr. C's house, I saw him with many injuries, lying motionless on the floor," said a resident living near Mr. C's house.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Gai, a resident in the area, was shocked and said: "I have never witnessed such a tragic incident. Early this morning, Ms. D. was taken to the market to buy food by her son who had just returned from Ho Chi Minh City, and now this incident happened."
According to Ms. Gai, Ho Thanh C. is the youngest of five siblings, three girls and two boys. More heartbreakingly, C.'s brother had just returned home from Ho Chi Minh City to attend the engagement ceremony for his niece who was preparing to get married, but has now passed away.
The danger of mental patients in the community
According to the leader of the People's Committee of An Nhon town, Ho Thanh C. is a schizophrenic. After the incident, the police arrived at the scene and detained C. for investigation.
The leader of An Nhon Town Medical Center also informed that C. has been mentally ill since 2022 and has a treatment record from a mental hospital. C.'s family took him to the hospital for regular check-ups and medication.
A representative of the An Nhon Town Medical Center said that managing outpatient psychiatric patients in the community is a difficult problem. Psychiatric patients showing signs of illness need to be promptly taken to a centralized facility for treatment to avoid unfortunate consequences.
According to the leader of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Dinh province, the Hoai Nhon Mental Health Care Center (Hoai Nhon town) is currently caring for more people than the prescribed number and is no longer able to receive them.
Meanwhile, the number of mentally ill people is increasing, leading to many behaviors that are dangerous to families and society, but there has been no investment in expanding the center.
