Thai Nguyen: Fresh tea bud output exceeds plan

Thai Nguyen currently leads the country in terms of area, output and product value. The whole province has 22,200 hectares of tea, of which the area for products is 21,500 hectares. In 2024, the average tea yield of the province will reach 127 quintals/ha, the output of fresh tea buds will reach 272.8 thousand tons, exceeding the plan by 1.6%, the output of processed tea will reach 54.6 thousand tons, the value of tea products will reach over 13.8 thousand billion VND. The area certified by VietGAP will reach 670 hectares (520 hectares newly certified, 150 hectares re-certified), bringing the total area of ​​tea meeting VietGAP standards to more than 5,900 hectares; the area certified by organic will reach 40 hectares, bringing the total area of ​​organic tea in the province to 120 hectares.
