On the morning of April 21, in Tokyo (Japan), the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to organize an investment promotion conference in Thai Binh province with the participation of more than 100 delegates representing Japanese organizations and enterprises.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the conference.
Attending the conference on the side of Thai Binh province were comrades: Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vu Ngoc Tri, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lai Van Hoan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Introducing the potential and advantages of attracting investment in Thai Binh province, Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed: Thai Binh is a coastal plain province, located in the Southeast of the Red River Delta, near Hanoi city, adjacent to Hai Phong; connected to the airport and seaport systems in Hai Phong by synchronous and modern transportation systems that have been and are being invested in. Thai Binh has advantages in land fund for industrial development, with 8 industrial parks with a total area of nearly 3,000 hectares that have cleared the land and built infrastructure, always ready to welcome investors. Not only has a favorable location, synchronous traffic connections, large land fund; Thai Binh also has abundant human resources with a population of about 2 million people, of which over 1 million are of working age, the number of trained workers is about 643,000 people, this is a high-quality human resource meeting the requirements of socio-economic development. In recent years, the economic growth rate of the province has always been among the top in the country. In 2022, despite many difficulties, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of Thai Binh increased by 9.52%; total FDI capital reached 660 million USD, ranking 16th out of 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam. Currently, in Thai Binh province, there are 5 valid foreign direct investment projects of Japanese investors being implemented with a total registered investment capital of 144 million USD.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Charge d'Affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, affirmed: The investment capital flow from Japan into Vietnam has contributed significantly to the sustainable socio-economic development of Vietnam. Many Japanese corporations have been present in Vietnam with prestigious products, high technology and techniques, contributing to replacing imported goods, increasing exports, promoting growth and enhancing Vietnam's position in the world.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh expressed his belief that through the investment promotion conference of Thai Binh province in Japan, Japanese enterprises will have the opportunity to meet and exchange directly with leaders and enterprises of Thai Binh province, on that basis, together creating effective and practical cooperative relationships in the coming time.
At the conference, there were exchanges and answers to questions from Japanese investors about policies and procedures for investment licensing; provincial leaders and representatives of a number of Japanese economic organizations witnessed the ceremony of handing over a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing new rice varieties between ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company and Professor Tran Nguyen Xuan; handing over a contract in principle for cooperation in rice processing activities in Vietnam - the high-quality rice processing factory project in Quynh Phu - Thai Binh between ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company and Satake Group; handing over a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation on supporting investment promotion activities, searching for and attracting investors to lease land to implement investment projects in Tien Hai Industrial Park between Viglacera Corporation - JSC and two partners, Sankei Building Group and Inter-sol Joint Stock Company.
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the conference on investment promotion in Thai Binh province in Japan is of great significance to the province, demonstrating the interest of Japanese organizations and enterprises in the province's cooperation and investment environment in many fields. Thai Binh province will direct relevant departments, branches and units to thoroughly respond to each feedback from Japanese partners and enterprises at the conference.
Providing more information about the areas that the province prioritizes to attract investment in the coming time such as: supporting industry, manufacturing industry, electricity, electronics, high-tech agriculture, cooperation in training and human resource development, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee committed that the province will accompany and create the most favorable conditions for investors during the implementation of projects in Thai Binh.
Provincial leaders and representatives of several Japanese economic organizations witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Viglacera Corporation - JSC and Sankei Building Group.

Also in the morning of the same day, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully thanked Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Charge d'Affaires of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in particular and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in general for helping Thai Binh province in the past time as well as supporting the province to organize an investment promotion conference in Japan on that basis to promote and introduce projects, calling for investment from Japan to Thai Binh province.
He expressed his wish to strengthen cooperation with Japan in all fields, especially in the economic field, and hoped that the Japanese Embassy would continue to support Thai Binh province in attracting investors, promoting and introducing the province so that investors would know and research and learn about investment opportunities in Thai Binh.
