And Huy had a beautiful, poetic solo night in mid-April 2024 to share the joy of his wish coming true with his beloved people who have followed The Huy's passionate recitals for over two years.

The joy of perseverance with the solo series

Still in a small, cozy auditorium with a piano accompaniment artist and The Huy singing and leading the entire program, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy for the first time a classical vocal solo combined with interesting Han - Nom literary material.

21 works of romantic and impressionist music from France, Germany, Italy, England and Vietnamese songs were skillfully connected by Huy through ideas based on literary works and poetic translations...

The recital night also featured Dr. - lecturer Na Yoon Baek (lyric soprano from Korea), pianists Le Pham My Dung and Vu Van Tu.

As always, the 9X tenor spends a lot of time meticulously researching each work, author, translating poems, printing small anthologies, choosing the most interesting stories to tell on stage so that the audience can easily understand, approach, and feel more deeply about each performance.

Huy invests like that because he always believes that art cannot be "sold wholesale" but needs to be meticulous.

Solo performance is still not popular in Vietnam, the audience is willing to come and listen to a young chamber artist perform the whole program, which is a favor and very open-minded...

Through each program, we can see Huy is becoming more confident, professional and mature.

"If you do a lot, you will get there", the young tenor who was once "clumsy, green and immature" is now more leisurely and graceful on stage.

For Huy, that is also the thing he loves about solo performances: helping artists maintain motivation, improve their expertise, hone their stage presence and become closer to classical music.

After more than two years of making his mark with a series of more than 10 vocal solos both for the public and privately, it is valuable that Huy still maintains the enthusiasm of a young artist who is always passionate and honest about his dreams.

That is probably also the attraction that helps this 9X tenor easily reach the audience through each performance and gain new listeners of his own.

Even more touching, Huy was also energized by the feedback from other young classical lovers, that Huy's courage to "take a loss" to invest in pursuing his passion and constantly learning had become a source of enthusiastic inspiration.

Because there are also many people who love classical music very much, but after graduating, they have to temporarily put their dreams aside or turn to another direction because of the pressures of life... On that arduous journey, it is truly precious to maintain perseverance and not give up.

Chasing a "Zhuang Zhou dream"

Huy will be studying abroad in Australia next May. His eyes sparkle with pride as he talks about his exciting new journey. Huy plans to spend four years studying Classical Voice and then continue his studies in Opera Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia.

"Because Huy's most "lofty" dream is to become a true international opera artist, which means having roles and performing regularly in professional operas at large theaters, and having the audience remember his face and name for his roles.

Currently, Huy only occasionally sings a few small opera excerpts, just a chamber singer..." - The Huy laughed.

During the solo performance "Dreaming the same dream of Trang Chu", Huy also carefully explained so that the audience would not be confused.

You know that you still have a long way to go, and you are not sure where you will go in the future. But as long as you love, are passionate about learning and are still enthusiastic, then keep dreaming and keep doing!

Just like when he went to Australia alone to compete, standing among many international friends from America, Europe, Asia... with his whole family supporting him, Huy felt small, lonely and pressured as the only Vietnamese candidate but still boldly competed.

Huy talked about his dream, about Vietnam, about many young classical artists who, despite their difficult real lives, not having many opportunities to perform, not having many audiences... still strive to pursue their career, and there is a young classical music market that is still growing.

So what about the audience who are familiar with The Huy's recitals? Studying abroad for so long when you're doing well, don't you regret it, Huy?

Or before leaving, Huy will do another solo night? Facing those concerns, Huy just smiled. Huy did not dare to promise because each solo night required a long investment.

But Huy hopes to still return to Vietnam as often as possible, keep appointments with the audience, and if he is able, do more solo performances in Australia, trying to study while realizing his opera dream at... the "shell" theater (who knows)!

Because for Huy, dreaming is to hope and believe, to awaken the most brilliant ambitions from the beginning, and to make them come true!
