Speaking at the Anniversary Ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Railway Construction Corporation (RCC) Ta Huu Dien said that on November 5, 1973, the Minister of Transport signed a decision to establish the Railway Construction Joint Stock Enterprise, now the Railway Construction Corporation.

Through 50 years of striving to build and grow, RCC has gone through many stages, associated with advantages, difficulties and challenges, with milestones associated with development. From its establishment in 1973 to 1993, the Joint Railway Construction Enterprise carried out political tasks after the country's liberation, clearing more than 3 million square meters of mines, restoring hundreds of kilometers of bridges, roads and building stations from North to South. At the same time, it implemented the Party and State's innovation policy on reforming the management mechanism and gradually transformed itself to adapt and operate according to the market mechanism.
With the continuous efforts of many generations of leaders and workers, RCC has actively contributed to the development of railway infrastructure, and has been recognized by the Party, State, Government, and Ministry of Transport, and awarded many noble awards: Government Emulation Flag - Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Transport; First, Second, and Third Class Labor Medals; First and Third Class Independence Medals; two Third Class Feat Medals; Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in 2002; Heroic Unit of Labor in the Renovation Period in 2004.
The period 1993-2018, this is the period of strong transformation of the corporation. In 2003, the company moved its headquarters from Hue to Hanoi, completing the equitization of state-owned enterprises. This is also the period when the company achieved outstanding business results, at times the output reached over 1,000 billion; for many consecutive years, the corporation was in the top VNR 500 (top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam). The company was profitable and had dividends of over 12% distributed to shareholders. In 2014 and 2015, the corporation continued to restructure and convert the model of member enterprises from LLCs to joint stock companies operating under the parent-subsidiary model.
In April 2018, implementing the policy of the Ministry of Transport, RCC divested 100% of State capital. From here, RCC entered a new journey full of difficulties and challenges when there was no longer State capital in the enterprise. However, in the past 5 years, RCC has inherited and promoted the good achievements of previous generations of workers, innovated in all aspects, and continued to build the corporation to develop more and more sustainably.
"On February 28, 2023, the Government issued Conclusion No. 49-KL/TW on the development orientation of Vietnam's railway transport to 2030, with a vision to 2045. This is truly a great opportunity, but also a challenge for the country's railway infrastructure in general and the Railway Construction Corporation in particular in meeting the development requirements of the industry.
RCC is determined to continue to maintain and develop its core traditional industry, striving for the corporation to always be the leader in railway construction. Continue to restructure the enterprise, promote internal resources, innovate management and investment, increase labor productivity and production and business efficiency, and enhance competitiveness. The goal is sustainable development; build RCC towards a future where it always firmly holds the number one position," emphasized Chairman of the Board of Directors Ta Huu Dien.

Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Quoc Minh acknowledged and highly appreciated RCC as an enterprise that has divested all state capital but the Party Committee still operates well, systematically, and considers Party work an important pillar for training personnel as well as appointing them to important positions.
As the managing unit of RCC for more than 40 years, continuing to accompany since 2018, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railway Corporation Dang Sy Manh emphasized the contribution of RCC as the number one construction unit in the field of railway construction. Regarding Party building, the Party Committee of the Railway Construction Corporation is a large Party Committee directly under the Party Committee of Vietnam Railway Corporation, piloting the assignment of the authority of the grassroots Party Committee with more than 400 Party members, operating systematically. The trade union and youth union organizations of RCC are also large mass organizations directly under the Trade Union and Youth Union of Vietnam Railway Corporation, contributing many positive activities.
"50 years of change, mechanisms, policies, and structures must be moved. However, RCC is still a trusted brand, winning many large and difficult projects inside and outside the railway industry. Vietnam Railways Corporation is committed to accompanying RCC in the process of building RCC to become stronger and stronger, contributing to the development of the railway industry," said Mr. Dang Sy Manh.
