On December 9, in Ninh Binh, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front coordinated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province to organize training, propaganda, dissemination, legal education, capacity building, knowledge on environmental protection and climate change response for religions in the Red River Delta provinces and some North Central provinces.
Attending the event were comrades: Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Do Viet Anh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission. Also attending were representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and 120 dignitaries, officials, and monks from religions in the Red River Delta and North Central regions.
Speaking at the training program, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Truong Thi Ngoc Anh emphasized the risks and challenges facing environmental protection and climate change response at present; the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws on this work and the role of religious organizations in joining hands to protect the environment.

He affirmed: In recent times, religions across the country have actively and effectively participated in environmental protection action programs and responded to climate change through many specific activities. 2,000 models of religions have been built and replicated, contributing to protecting the environment, preserving natural landscapes, resources, conserving biodiversity, and using renewable energy.
The training program aims to provide the latest legal knowledge on environmental protection and current issues facing Vietnam. This is also an opportunity to exchange and unify methods and practices and supplement practical experiences between localities and religions to better implement the coordination program, promoting the role of religions in environmental protection and responding to climate change in the period of 2022 - 2026.
During the training program, delegates were introduced, discussed and responded to by experts on issues related to the Law on Environmental Protection; Vietnam's urgent strategic tasks in environmental protection and climate change response; the Party and State's religious policies and some contents related to promoting the role of religions in environmental protection and climate change response.
Delegates also exchanged experiences, models, and good practices of Buddhism in Ninh Binh province and some religions in provinces and cities in the region on environmental protection, climate change response, and social security...
Through training, we aim to further promote the role of religions in environmental protection, contributing to the effective implementation of the National Strategy on Climate Change for the period up to 2050: proactively and effectively adapting, reducing vulnerability, loss and damage caused by climate change; reducing greenhouse gas emissions towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, actively and responsibly contributing to the international community in protecting the Earth's climate system; taking advantage of opportunities from climate change response to shift the growth model, enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the economy; and sustainably developing the country.
