Last night, the world gold price set a new record of 2,803 USD/ounce.

Last night, the world gold price increased by tens of USD/ounce, from 2,758 USD to 2,803 USD/ounce - a new record price on the market. At 6:00 a.m. on January 31, the spot gold price today was at 2,796 USD/ounce.

In Vietnam, on the second day of Tet (January 30), some gold shops sold gold rings for 87.7 million VND/tael, equal to the price of SJC gold bars.

The world's gold price today increased sharply as many people increased their demand for safe haven capital in precious metals to prevent risks. The reason is believed to be that the financial market is still worried about the trade and foreign policy of the Donald Trump administration - especially the import tariffs that will cause inflation in the US to heat up.

Other factors also affecting the gold price trend were the European Central Bank (ECB) cutting interest rates by another 0.25 percentage points after data showed the Eurozone economy was stagnating.

Other markets saw the dollar weaken slightly. Crude oil prices were mostly steady, trading around $72.50 a barrel. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury note is currently at 4.5%.
