Gold price rises sharply, sets new record on the night of March 13

(NLDO) – The world gold price has not stopped its shocking increase when it set a new record peak, heading towards the 3,000 USD/ounce mark.

At 10:00 p.m. on March 13, Vietnam time, the price of gold traded on the international market today continuously jumped and surpassed the old peak of 2,950 USD/ounce, setting a new peak.

The all-time high was recorded at 2,974 USD/ounce, up 70 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 2.2 million VND/tael) compared to the lowest level of the previous session. This is a very strong increase in gold price in one session.

On some forums, many investors expressed surprise when the price of gold not only continuously broke old peaks and set new peaks, but also increased shockingly beyond expectations.

Gold prices rose sharply in the context of the US producer price index (PPI) report for February being unchanged from the previous month, lower than previously forecast. This continues the trend of inflation being controlled at a lower level than expected, following the consumer price index (CPI) report the previous day. However, some comments said that gold prices are "strangely fluctuating" when they continuously increase dramatically without too many sudden factors.

Since the beginning of 2025, the precious metal has increased by 370 USD/ounce, equivalent to an increase of more than 14% after a year of 2024 when it increased by 30%. Gold is becoming a channel to attract cash flow from international investors.

Gold price increased shockingly in the international market

In the domestic market, as of the end of March 13, the price of SJC gold bars also jumped when companies such as SJC, PNJ, DOJI, and Phu Quy listed the buying price at 92.9 million VND/tael and the selling price at 94.4 million VND/tael, an increase of 200,000 VND per tael compared to the morning.

The record price of gold bars was recorded at 94.7 million VND/tael at Mi Hong Company. In just 3 consecutive days, the price of gold bars increased by a total of about 2 million VND/tael. Not only gold bars, the price of gold rings and 99.99 gold jewelry also jumped, with the highest level reaching 95 million VND/tael.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 92.1 million VND/tael.

Gold prices almost increased vertically on the evening of March 13 in the international market.
