In recent days, at Tram River, Village 2, Tien An Commune, Tien Phuoc District, an incident has made people feel strange and come to see, that is, a large rock protruding from the water has a bright red patch, many people think that it is a blooming rock.
On the rock there is a soft layer like moss carpet, nearly 1m long, about 30cm wide, located right below the edge of the rock facing the water.
According to locals, this red patch appeared on the rock more than half a month ago, during the Tet Giap Thin period.
At first it was just a small yellow patch, which turned bright red over the next few days and then faded away. When you touch the rock, it feels like a soft, smooth carpet of moss.

Village 2 residents also said that this phenomenon occurs once every 6-7 years. "About 6 years ago, a similar red color appeared on this rock slab," said a resident.
After the images of the "blossoming" rocks were posted on social media, many people came here to see, check-in, and take pictures because it was the first time they saw such a strange phenomenon.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Phan Hong Phat - Chairman of Tien An Commune People's Committee, said that before this incident, he also went to Tram River to inspect.
According to him, this is not the first time this rock has had a red color, but previously in 2018 this rock had the same color. At that time, experts and scientists also came to check and said that it was actually a type of lichen growing on the rock.

Lichen is a symbiotic form of mold and algae, not a "blooming" rock as people say. This is a normal natural phenomenon. There are many rocks on the Tram River but only one rock has this phenomenon.
"The day I came to check, a yellow patch appeared on the rock as big as a hand with a red border. It felt soft like velvet to the touch, a thin layer of a few millimeters. But after a few days it spread and lengthened, turning red," Mr. Phat added.
Mr. Phat said that according to the locals, this rock appears once every 5-7 years, in the past it happened every ten years.
"The Tram River has beautiful scenery with suspension bridges, streams and many rocks. There is also a rock that appears red, so in recent days, many people have gathered to see and take pictures," said Mr. Phat.
