Strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection and development

(QNO) - The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan to implement the Party's Plans, Conclusions, and Directives on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection, and development in Quang Nam province.

Accordingly, the plan sets out many specific tasks and solutions: Synchronously and effectively implement the Party's policies, programs, projects, mechanisms and policies of the Central Government and the Provincial People's Council on forest management, protection and sustainable forestry development.

Continue to effectively implement key forestry programs, projects and schemes of the Central and the province that are being implemented in the province such as: Vietnam Forestry Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050; Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the period 2021 - 2025; 1 billion tree planting program; Project to support planting of large native timber forests combined with rice support for the area of swidden land converted to afforestation in Quang Nam province for the period 2024 - 2030, Project on payment for forest environmental services...

Continue to review and recommend central ministries and branches to amend, supplement and perfect the system of legal documents, mechanisms and policies related to the forestry sector to ensure consistency, synchronization and effective application between legal documents, especially the Land Law, the Law on Environmental Protection and international treaties with the Forestry Law to promptly overcome overlaps and difficulties; propose to build a legal framework for developing the forest carbon credit market, ensuring feasibility during implementation.

Propose mechanisms and policies that clearly stipulate the rights, obligations and responsibilities of organizations, households and individuals when assigned, hired or contracted to protect forests and forestry land according to each appropriate forest type in order to create conditions to attract all resources, labor, investment capital and encourage the participation of economic sectors, organizations, households and individuals in forest management, protection and development...
