DNVN - To further improve the quality and reputation of Vietnamese goods in domestic and foreign markets, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested research and drawing lessons from practice to have stronger breakthroughs in implementing the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
At the Gala program of 15 years of the Industry and Trade sector implementing the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" on November 12 in Hanoi, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien assessed that the campaign has achieved many positive results, and in that general achievement, there is an important and positive contribution of the Industry and Trade sector.
"The campaign has attracted special attention from the business community, domestic consumers and overseas Vietnamese, contributing to effectively exploiting the domestic market, strengthening endogenous capacity, improving competitiveness, promoting economic growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring major balances of the economy," Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized.
The campaign helps domestic and foreign consumers to properly perceive the production and business capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises and the quality of Vietnamese products, goods and services. Vietnamese enterprises have also raised their awareness of the importance of the domestic market. From there, they focus on improving quality, improving technology, production lines, business methods and building, developing and protecting brands. Enterprises' approach to the market is also more systematic and effective, so domestic and foreign consumers increasingly appreciate the quality and reputation of Vietnamese brands.

Thanks to these efforts, Vietnamese goods now account for a high proportion in distribution channels: over 80% in supermarkets and 60% or more in traditional retail stores. The total turnover of retail goods and services has maintained a stable growth rate of about 10% per year, and the consumer price index (CPI) has fallen below 5% since 2014.
At the program, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau acknowledged the pioneering role of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in implementing the campaign. Thanks to close coordination with socio-political organizations, the campaign has been widely spread to each locality and unit. Large corporations and groups in the industry have actively responded, contributing to creating a widespread consumption network, bringing Vietnamese goods closer to consumers across the country.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long highly appreciated, commended and warmly congratulated the important results achieved by the Industry and Trade sector in implementing the campaign, contributing to the overall development achievements of the country.
