At the meeting, Director General of the Japanese Tax Agency Oku Tatsuo and Deputy Director General Nakamura Minoru discussed issues such as continuing to promote cooperation to sign the first Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) between the two countries. This is a favorable premise to help Japanese companies have tax stability in the future and encourage Japanese companies to further increase investment in Vietnam.
Deputy General Director Vu Chi Hung emphasized the nearly 30-year cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan in the tax field.
According to Deputy General Director Vu Chi Hung, in recent times, the tax authorities of the two countries have taken turns organizing visits, working, surveying and exchanging knowledge and experience in tax management, achieving many remarkable results.
Director General Oku Tatsuo said that promoting cooperation to sign the first Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) between the two countries is a favorable premise to help Japanese companies have tax stability in the future and encourage Japanese companies to further increase investment in Vietnam.
Director General Oku Tatsuo said that he had received a letter from Director General of the General Department of Taxation of Vietnam Mai Xuan Thanh requesting the Japanese side to support documents and content related to the overall strategy and tax officer training project of the Japanese tax agency. He hoped that in the coming time, the tax agencies of the two countries would continue to strengthen their comprehensive cooperation.
At the meeting to negotiate bilateral agreement procedures (MAP) with the Japanese tax agency, Deputy Director General Vu Chi Hung and Ms. Hosoda Chigusa - Director of the Office of Bilateral Agreement Procedures of the Japanese tax agency, discussed the cooperation between the General Department of Taxation of Vietnam and the Japanese tax agency in recent years.
Representatives of the two countries' tax authorities discussed the importance of the APA dossier. Accordingly, the Japanese tax authority presented its wishes for this dossier and proposed a plan to be able to sign the first APA with Vietnam.
Regarding the MAP dossier on transfer pricing, the representative of the Vietnamese tax authority presented and explained in detail their views on this dossier so that the Japanese tax authority could have a basis to present their views and prepare for the next negotiation.
Ms. Hosoda Chigusa said that she was also very interested in the survey delegation with the topic of effective management and enforcement of transfer prices of the Vietnamese tax authority in Japan in November 2024, and said that she would discuss with colleagues of the Japanese tax authority to share experiences and provide maximum support to the working delegation of the Vietnamese tax authority.
