Who is the new Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee?

Mr. Le Minh Hung, Politburo member and Head of the Central Organizing Committee, presented the Politburo's decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh as Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

On the afternoon of November 2, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, a conference was held to announce and present the Politburo's decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, presented the decision to Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh.

At the conference, Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee, announced the decision of the Politburo issued on October 25, 2024 on personnel work.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided to let Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, cease participating in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and cease holding the position of Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

At the same time, the Politburo mobilized, assigned and appointed Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh (born in 1969, from Vinh Phuc province), political theory qualification: Senior; professional qualification: Doctor of Economics.

He used to hold the positions of Deputy General Director of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), Chief of Office of the State Bank of Vietnam, General Director of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade (Vietcombank), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank (from 2014-2021).

Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech accepting the assignment.

In January 2021, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

In June 2021, Mr. Thanh was mobilized, assigned, and appointed by the Politburo to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee.

It is known that previously, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, was approved by the 15th National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Justice on August 26, at the 8th extraordinary session.
