In recent times, the agricultural sector of Long Ho district has coordinated with the locality to promote digital transformation, apply high technology (CNC) in agricultural production, especially expand effective agricultural models. Thereby, not only contributing to changing farmers' awareness, bringing high economic efficiency, but also helping farmers access modern and sustainable agriculture.

It is necessary to propagate to raise awareness, change people's thinking, production and business habits.

Promote the application of high technology in production

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Long Ho district, in recent times, the district has promoted the implementation of the Plan to restructure the agricultural sector of Long Ho district for the period 2021-2025 and the Plan to implement the development of agriculture applying high technology in Long Ho district for the period 2021-2030.

Accordingly, every year, the district plans and organizes many training courses for farmers to reduce the abuse of chemicals in agriculture such as applying IPM, applying production processes in the direction of GAP, organic, circular in agricultural production... Support and create conditions for individuals, organizations, and businesses to participate in seminars and testing programs related to CNC application in agricultural production through industry projects.

The district has guided and supported investment in innovative start-up projects, developed innovative start-up businesses in the agricultural sector, integrated support for investment in machinery, equipment, and transfer of advanced production processes and methods in 6 units...

The agricultural sector also disseminates and replicates CNC production models in agricultural extension activities, aiming to gradually develop organic standard growing areas; increase CNC production areas, and high economic efficiency agricultural extension models to effectively implement agricultural extension models...

In addition, supporting agricultural cooperatives to improve production conditions, product processing and packaging, supporting investment in building warehouses, processing facilities, and systems to remove insects and impurities and wash vegetables with ozone for 3 cooperatives (Binh Hoa Phuoc Rambutan Cooperative, Hau Thanh Agricultural Cooperative in Long An commune, Phuoc Hau Safe Vegetable Cooperative).

At the same time, the district has supported cooperatives, companies, enterprises, fruit farms and gardeners to participate in many exhibition activities connecting supply and demand inside and outside the province. Regularly update market information, information on technical barriers, sanitary and phytosanitary measures of importing countries (China, EU, Japan, etc.) to establishments and enterprises to have appropriate product development plans to meet market requirements.

In implementing the OCOP Program to contribute to the development of CNC agriculture, the development of preliminary processing, processing and preservation technology of agricultural products, and the connection of product consumption, the district has supported investment for 11 entities participating in the annual evaluation and voting with 17 products meeting OCOP standards from 3-5 stars.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sau - member of Hau Thanh Agricultural Cooperative (Long An Commune, Long Ho District) said: Farmers used to be used to using chemical fertilizers, so their products had difficulty finding a market. Since participating in organic rice production, limiting the use of chemical fertilizers, growth stimulants, and pesticides, we have created safe products, contributing to protecting the ecological environment and protecting human health. At the same time, this is also an urgent and long-term issue to improve the quality of local rice.

With products of dried red tilapia and dried pineapple fish that meet 3-star OCOP standards, Mr. Pham Hung Dung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinh Long Safe Seafood Chain Link Cooperative, said: The Cooperative has 85 cages for raising red tilapia, tilapia, carp, crispy carp, grass carp, catfish, snakehead fish, basa... The Cooperative also processes and preserves aquatic products and aquatic products. With fresh raw materials and farming standards according to VietGAP standards, the Cooperative's products are produced according to a process to provide the market with safe and quality products.

Strengthen propaganda

Developing agriculture applying CNC combined with restructuring the agricultural sector is a solution to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of the agricultural sector.

Mr. Ho The Nhu - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Long Ho district, said: In recent times, the implementation of CNC agricultural development has been supported and participated in by the majority of farmers, contributing to changing farmers' farming practices from backward, manual to modern farming, applying science and technology in production; using products of natural and biological origin, contributing to improving productivity, product quality, increasing product competitiveness, ensuring safety for consumers.

However, the progress of implementing some key targets such as the rate of crop area using organic fertilizers and microbial organic fertilizers is still slow and lower than planned; some farmers have not boldly invested in production, which has partly affected the results of applying CNC and organic agriculture in production.

Besides, the expansion of agents is still very limited, due to the lack of close coordination, the difficulty in farmers' response, and the product consumption market is largely undetermined, uncertain, and unstable.

In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to mobilize people, deploy and replicate CNC application models, organic agricultural production according to the plan; propagate to raise awareness, change thinking, production and business practices of people and enterprises, in the direction of: introducing scientific and technological achievements; new solutions with a focus on achievements in the category of CNC application in agriculture to reduce production costs, improve product quality such as: greenhouse technology, membrane house, water-saving irrigation; automation technology; production solutions using organic materials, organic fertilizers, biological products, microbial fertilizers with low cost and higher economic efficiency than traditional production practices.

Implement training programs for farmers to reduce the abuse of chemicals in agriculture. At the same time, support farmers, cooperatives, establishments, and businesses to develop e-commerce: perfecting production processes, standardizing products, building websites, providing instructions on using e-commerce trading platforms, origin traceability stamps, etc.
