Temporarily suspend the implementation of some tasks related to administrative units at all levels

Temporarily suspend the submission of the Project on arrangement and establishment of administrative units at district and commune levels. This is a proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs to the People's Committees of provinces and cities.

On the evening of March 23, the Ministry of Home Affairs said it had sent a document to localities regarding the temporary suspension of certain tasks and work related to administrative units at all levels.

Implementing Conclusion No. 127-KL/TW dated February 28 of the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat on implementing research and proposing to continue to reorganize the apparatus of the political system, including the content of developing a project to merge a number of provincial-level administrative units, not organizing at the district level, and continuing to merge commune-level administrative units; Document No. 1824/VPCP-NC dated March 7 of the Government Office requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to study the appropriate time to submit to the Government the project to establish urban administrative units. The Ministry of Home Affairs requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to temporarily suspend the submission of the project to arrange and establish district- and commune-level administrative units according to the provisions of Resolution No. 1211/2016/UBTVQH13 (amended and supplemented in Resolution No. 27/2022/UBTVQH15) and Resolution No. 35/2023/UBTVQH15.

The Ministry of Home Affairs also requested localities to temporarily stop classifying administrative units at all levels; temporarily stop appraising and accepting records and maps of administrative unit boundaries at all levels (Project 513) and create new, edit and supplement records and maps of administrative unit boundaries at all levels according to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of each administrative unit at district and commune levels in the period 2023-2025.

At the same time, localities temporarily suspend the construction of the Master Plan Component of district and commune-level administrative units for the period up to 2030 and vision to 2045 as required in Document No. 8657/BNV-CQDP dated December 31, 2024 of the Ministry of Home Affairs until there is a new policy from the competent authority./.
