(NLDO) - The police have identified the driver who taped up his car's license plate to avoid a fine, causing a stir on social media.
On March 2, Nghe An Provincial Police said they had invited the car driver who used tape to change the license plate to come in for questioning and continued to consolidate the case file, and draw up a fine for the act of covering up letters and numbers on the license plate.
Previously, on March 1, social media posted a picture of a Honda City car running on Tran Hung Dao Street, Vinh City, Nghe An Province with its license plate covered with tape.

According to the recorded image, the license plate number 37A-926.87, after being covered with black tape, changed to 37A-828.87. After the image was posted, many social media users were outraged and condemned the driver's violation.
Upon receiving the information, the traffic police force investigated and identified the driver of the car as Mr. CTT (41 years old, residing in Nghi An commune, Vinh city). The car was identified as having the license plate number 37A-926.87.
The police invited Mr. T. to work.
The police then drew up an administrative violation report against Mr. T. for pasting or covering letters and numbers on the license plate, and temporarily detained his driver's license for processing.
According to Decree 168/2024, the above violations will be fined from 20 to 26 million VND and have 6 points deducted from the driver's license.
