Nearly 100 meters of embankment in front of Khanh Hung commune headquarters, Tran Van Thoi district, collapsed heavily on February 20, the deepest point was nearly 2 meters.
Since the beginning of the year, the district has recorded about 340 cases of subsidence and landslides, most concentrated in the communes of Tran Hoi, Khanh Hai, Khanh Binh, Khanh Binh Tay, Khanh Binh Tay Bac; causing damage of more than 13 billion VND.
The district currently has 264 rivers and canals with a total length of more than 960 km. Most of the roads are built on dikes, near rivers, canals and streams. Therefore, river and canal bank erosion affects the roads.
