Youth participates in building new countryside

With the enthusiasm of youth, in recent times, cadres, union members, and youth of Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district have actively participated in building advanced, exemplary new rural areas (NTM) with many specific, practical works and tasks. Thereby, contributing with the local government and people to effectively implement the National Target Program on NTM construction, making the homeland increasingly developed and prosperous.

The youth project "Activity and entertainment spot for children and people" contributes to building an advanced, exemplary new rural area in the locality.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Minh - Secretary of the Commune Youth Union said: The Commune Youth Union currently has over 680 members and youths operating in 26 branches. In order for members and youths to actively participate in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas, the Commune Youth Union has disseminated to members and youths the content and significance of the National Target Program on New Rural Area Construction, new and creative activities and methods, models and typical examples in building new rural areas through meetings, on the information and communication system and social networks Zalo and Facebook. Thereby, enhancing the role, awareness and responsibility of members and youths in implementing the goal of building advanced and exemplary new rural areas and performing local socio-economic development tasks.

One of the practical tasks implemented by the Commune Youth Union is the "Activity and entertainment points for children and people" project, which has been under construction since 2018 at cultural houses in residential areas in the commune, including entertainment equipment such as: Swings, seesaws, bouncy animals... Up to now, 15 activity and entertainment points have been built with a total value of nearly 190 million VND, creating a healthy and useful playground, contributing to forming the habit of exercising, physical exercise, and sports for the people and developing skills for teenagers and children, helping them develop comprehensively in terms of physical and mental health...

In order to maintain good environmental criteria, the Commune Youth Union organizes many activities such as: Cleaning village roads, clearing sewers; renovating the grounds of martyrs' cemeteries, cultural houses; taking care of trees, youth tree rows... attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate. From 2024 to now, 14 "Green Sunday" and volunteer Saturday campaigns have been organized, attracting over 600 union members and young people; planting over 900 new trees of all kinds at Kinh Ke martyrs' cemetery and Son Duong dual carriageway; building the "Model new rural tree row" project... With the practical actions of union members and young people of Phung Nguyen commune, they have contributed to building a safe living environment, increasingly greener, cleaner and more beautiful.

Accompanying the youth in economic development, the Commune Youth Union promotes capital borrowing activities, helps each other to establish a career, coordinates the organization of training sessions, transfers science and technology in livestock and crop farming; applies science and technology in production... Currently, the Commune Youth Union is managing the entrusted capital of the district's Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding loan of nearly 13 billion VND for over 290 households (of which more than 50 union members and youth have received loans for economic development). Along with that, mobilize union members and youth to continue converting high-value crops and livestock, thereby creating many typical examples in economic development such as: Union member Do Thi Hang of Dung Hien Youth Union with a garment processing workshop model that brings in high income, creating jobs for 10 workers with an income of 7-9 million VND/month; Union member Cao Van Thuc of Youth Union 6 with a comprehensive livestock model that brings in an income of more than 10 million VND/month...

From specific actions, the youth movement participating in building advanced and exemplary new rural areas has created a strong influence among union members and young people. Thereby, arousing the spirit of initiative, creativity, daring to think, daring to do of the youth, contributing with the locality to gradually perfect the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.
