Mr. Huynh Dam - former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, affirmed: Looking back over the past 40 years, although facing countless difficulties and challenges, our people and our country sometimes had to overcome waves and headwinds, but under the leadership of the Party in the process of implementing the renovation policy, the great national solidarity bloc has been constantly consolidated and promoted. It is the great national solidarity bloc that has created great achievements, of historical significance, and is very proud of the nearly 40 years of renovation. Thanks to the spirit of great national solidarity, our country has the foundation, potential, and prestigious position in the international arena.
That reality once again profoundly proves the truth that Uncle Ho summarized: “Unity, unity, great unity. Success, success, great success” and our Party has identified great unity as a great resource and a decisive factor for the victory of our country’s revolutionary cause. Compared to current requirements, demands and desires, the Front must strive and rise even higher, including in promoting the strength of great national unity, in performing its role, position, function and tasks. We are proud but must not “glorify” but must evaluate objectively and seriously to strive and rise.
In the coming time, the Vietnam Fatherland Front must arouse the strength of great national unity to realize the aspirations of the Party, Uncle Ho and our nation to maintain independence, unity and territorial integrity, for a rich people, a strong country, a fair, democratic and civilized society, and first of all, successfully implement the goals set by the 13th Party Congress. From there, perfect and specify the institutions to promote the role, position, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new period, especially the role of representation, supervision, social criticism, and innovation in the content and methods of operation to make them more practical and richer so that the Front can bring happiness to the people.
The common home of all those who carry the blood of "Lac Hong descendants"
Mr. Nguyen Tuc - Chairman of the Advisory Council on Culture and Society (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), said: At each Congress of the Front, our patriotism and tradition of solidarity are increasingly consolidated and promoted. The Front is the common home of all those who carry the blood of "children of Lac, grandchildren of Hong".
Thanks to the Front, we have achieved the results we have today. One of the great initiatives of President Ho Chi Minh was his proposal to establish the Vietnam National United Front, which has gathered all classes of people not only through movements, but more importantly through organizations. This has inherited and promoted the tradition of our nation. Our nation has a tradition of patriotism, united, so we have invincible strength. "Unity, unity, great unity. Success, success, great success". The 13th National Party Congress affirmed "... looking back at 35 years of implementing the renovation process... Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today". That is a fact.
While talking about potential, position, prestige, and fortune, we cannot help but mention the important contributions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. With all our confidence, our 10th Congress will be a Congress of national revival, striving to realize Uncle Ho's goal of "Our entire Party and people unite to strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam...". With what has been achieved through the Congresses, the 10th Congress will be a great success.
Finding new forms and methods in the work of national solidarity
Mr. Do Quang Hung - Chairman of the Advisory Council on Religion (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front) affirmed: Among the great and comprehensive achievements of the Vietnam Fatherland Front over the past decades, which the Party, State and people have recognized, the core role in the work of gathering forces and great national unity is perhaps the most outstanding achievement. Along with that, the Front has also summarized many historical experiences in this work, which are capable of contributing to explaining the causes of success of our country's revolutionary cause in the past as well as at present. The 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in the issue of great national unity, in addition to promoting the above-mentioned experiences and achievements, also needs to pay attention to the opportunities and challenges of this issue.
In the national issue in Vietnam as well as many countries in the world, especially in the context of strong globalization, cosmopolitanism, nationalism, populism... with many intertwined tendencies, some positive, some negative.
This makes the work of gathering and uniting the entire nation under the common roof of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have to consider learning and applying international and domestic experiences to find new forms and methods in the work of uniting the entire nation. There are issues that we have done very well such as: solidarity, mutual assistance between the majority (Kinh people) and ethnic minorities in the national democratic revolution and in the previous socialist revolution, now also requires new awareness of the needs, aspirations of ethnic minorities and ethnic policies...
In addition, in the issue of national solidarity, the Vietnam Fatherland Front always upholds the tradition of patriotism, nationalism as well as social consensus, taking the goal of "Rich people, strong country, fair, democratic and civilized society" as the common denominator in the system of national values. Perhaps, in this work in the future, the Vietnam Fatherland Front must also raise new issues in ideological and ideological nuances... to further enhance the capacity and effectiveness of this work, such as doing a better job of mobilizing compatriots of all ethnic groups, religions, and overseas Vietnamese, to truly achieve a high level of social consensus.
Pay more attention to policies for ethnic minorities, mountainous areas and the most disadvantaged areas.
Ms. Bui Thi Thanh - former Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairwoman of the Advisory Council on Ethnic Minorities, emphasized: I hope and expect strong innovation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the work of supervision, social criticism and building a team of Front cadres.
In the coming term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front must strengthen social criticism, because this is an extremely important role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in performing its representative function to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people. Only then will the Front be worthy of becoming the core for the people to be the masters.
Along with that is the promotion of democracy, the expansion of democracy with more flexible and suitable forms to be able to listen to people's opinions from many perspectives. To do so, the Front needs to strengthen supervision and ensure that the policies and guidelines of the Party and State really come into life, bringing practical results to the people.
In particular, more attention should be paid to policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the most difficult areas of the country. In the coming term, to achieve strong innovation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front must have a force doing Front work that is truly qualified, dedicated and responsible, "listening to people, speaking so that people understand, doing so that people believe", daring to speak, daring to act, meeting the requirements of Front work in the new period.
The success of the Congress will be a milestone to assess the development and maturity of the Front.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong - Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy and Law (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), said: At this Congress, delegates will focus on analyzing and evaluating the situation of the past term and proposing directions, solutions and tasks for the next term. I believe that after the Congress, the organization and activities of the Front will have stronger changes and innovations compared to the previous term. This Congress was carefully and elaborately prepared, in the light of many new viewpoints, thoughts and guidelines of the Party such as the issue of building a rule-of-law state, promoting democracy, continuing to build and develop a market economy, etc.
With these new ideas, the Resolution of the 10th Congress will contain many new points. The success of the Congress will be a milestone to evaluate the development and maturity of the Front. I have high expectations for the achievements of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to continue to contribute to the building and perfecting of a socialist rule-of-law state, building a state apparatus that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people. In particular, the role of the Front is extremely important with a wide scope of activities, close to the people, so it can grasp the aspirations and thoughts of the people in building a clean and strong state apparatus.
Also through this Congress, the work of social supervision and criticism will be summarized and reviewed by the Congress after 10 years of implementation. I believe that this work will be raised to a higher level in quality. This is a method of controlling state power to prevent subjectivity, voluntarism, group interests and negative issues hidden in policies and laws... The work of social supervision and criticism will be promoted and implemented more effectively and efficiently. The Advisory Council on Democracy and Law in the new term of the Front will also have a stronger development in quality, striving to become the Front's brand in social supervision and criticism.
Create strong community cohesion from residential areas
Mr. Vu Trong Kim - former Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association, affirmed: One of the important things in the upcoming term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is that the great national unity bloc continues to be expanded to all social classes, ethnic groups, religions, social components, Vietnamese people living abroad, with the spirit of striving, sharing the same point of view for the goal of "Rich people, strong country, equality, democracy, civilization", realizing the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam. Although the world situation has many fluctuations, we always carry in our hearts the spirit of patriotism, love, peace for the world, peace to build the country.
That is the great aspiration of the entire nation. In that spirit, I hope that the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels will closely connect with the representatives, intellectuals, village elders, and village chiefs - those who are undertaking the task of renewing each "cell" of society, strongly promoting the forms of gathering and activities at the grassroots level, creating a solid community cohesion from residential areas, building a position of people's hearts, promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political security, and social order and safety.
It is important to emphasize that the innovation in the content and methods of operation of the Front must spread to all regions, especially in residential areas, villages, and neighborhoods.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front continues to connect with government agencies, closely coordinate to create many new resources to care for the lives of people in difficult mountainous areas, ethnic minorities in border areas and islands of the Fatherland, shorten the gap in living standards between people in remote areas and urban areas, so that people can firmly believe in the leadership of the Party and State.
The attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels in coordinating actions in the past has been effective and positive. In the coming time, there needs to be a more regular, closer, more innovative coordination mechanism, creating the strength of the political system to promote the work of the Front in all residential areas nationwide as well as Vietnamese people living abroad. We wish and hope that this Congress will be a historical turning point, a strong transformation, bringing our nation to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
Promoting the resources of the Vietnamese community abroad for the cause of national construction and defense
Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh - Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese emphasized: I am particularly interested in the position and role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front as the home of great national unity of Vietnamese people in the country and the Vietnamese community abroad, how to increasingly connect stronger and more firmly the relationship between our compatriots at home and abroad. Currently, the number of Vietnamese people abroad is about 6 million people, a very large scale, with a very rapid increase, not only those who have settled before but also those who go to school, go to work, and then stay to work in other countries.
In addition to quantity, the quality of Vietnamese people abroad has changed a lot, there are also experts, scientists, many people participate in business, becoming successful businessmen.
I hope that in the coming term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to pay attention so that the overseas Vietnamese community can truly become an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people, and also a great resource contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Currently, Vietnam has diplomatic relations with 193 countries in the world, signed 16 regional and bilateral free trade agreements with partners around the world...
It is our compatriots abroad who benefit from these relationships, but they are also the ones who contribute to these relationships, who are the bridges for these relationships. I really hope that in the next term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will exploit these resources of our compatriots. Along with that, the Vietnam Fatherland Front also needs to consider resolving issues that the overseas Vietnamese community is still looking forward to, such as nationality issues; support and create conditions for overseas Vietnamese to return to their homeland and contribute to the country; and provide a roadmap to resolve the issue of voting and candidacy rights of overseas Vietnamese.
The Front will continue to develop to new heights as expected by the Party and the people.
Mr. Phan Xuan Dung - Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), affirmed: The Vietnam Fatherland Front is a political alliance, a voluntary union, a gathering of Vietnamese workers, farmers and intellectuals, playing an extremely important role and position in the country's political system. The 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front was carefully and scientifically prepared, under the direct and regular guidance of the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat.
I believe that, inheriting the achievements of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX and previous terms, the Front will continue to develop to new heights in the coming term as expected by the Party and the people. The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations represents Vietnamese intellectuals in science and technology, and intellectuals are one of the three pillars of the alliance of workers, farmers and intellectuals. The role of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations as well as the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will grow stronger and more important, especially in the coming period when science and technology will develop at an unprecedented rate.
To fulfill the mission assigned by the Party and the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front wishes that the Vietnam Fatherland Front, specifically the Presidium and the leadership of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, regularly encourage the intellectuals, so that the intellectuals who have trusted will trust even more, those who are united will be even more united, those who have served will serve even better, contributing to the country and the people.
