The acoustic version of the hit song "Nội nhớ ngủ" by singer Lam Trường has just been released and has made an impression when the MV was filmed at Lake Brienz (Switzerland). This famous location is the setting of the Korean movie "Hạ đất ở anh" so Lam Trường immediately created sympathy from the majority of Korean movie lovers.

Music becomes tourism ambassador

Previously, Son Tung M-TP was also one of the singers who "spent a lot of money" on their products when filming MVs in the US. Joshua Tree National Park and the Mojave Desert were the first two locations to appear in the MV "Give It To Me". The coastal city of Long Beach - the hometown of rapper Snoop Dogg - also appeared beautifully in Son Tung M-TP's MV.

Singer Bao Thy also chose France as the location to film the MV "Misunderstanding". The romantic footage was filmed in Grenoble - a peaceful mountain city in France, literally "lost" in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes valley surrounded by mountains with two poetic rivers, the Drac and Isere, flowing through. This beautiful city also stands out with the Alps behind it, always covered in white snow. This place is easy to please Vietnamese tourists because after Paris, this city has many young Vietnamese studying abroad.

Duc Phuc was no less impressive when filming the MV "Can I Love You" in Seoul - Korea. In it, "foodie" Yang Soo Bin (a famous YouTuber) combined with Duc Phuc to form a lovely, innocent "chick" couple. With a duration of more than 5 minutes, "Can I Love You" made fans unable to take their eyes off from beginning to end because of the beautiful and famous scenes in Seoul such as: Ewha Womans University, Olympic Park, Haneul Park, Han River bank... and famous traditional restaurants.

In the country, Phu Yen province - which was used as the setting for the movie "I see yellow flowers on the green grass" - was also chosen by many crews as the setting, including the MVs of Bao Anh and Hoang Dung. Hoa Minzy's crew filmed at An Dinh Palace, Hue City for the MV "Khong the cung nhau suot kiep". Quoc Thien's crew chose Doc Phu Hai Palace - a national relic in Tien Giang - to film the MV "Van su tu duyen".

In addition to being quite expensive, choosing famous locations as the setting for MVs is an effective way to promote products. With locations that have been famous through previous films, the audience will be curious about how the MV crew exploits the image. With historical, cultural, and famous destinations, the filming crew has a lot of material and stories to tell the audience, but must be careful about ideas, costumes, and performance to avoid public backlash.

It is worth mentioning that famous backgrounds only create supporting effects and cannot be the decisive factor for the success of an MV product. Reality proves that not all high-cost investments with famous landmarks as backgrounds will attract attention. Currently, the time a music product can stay in the rankings is very short. Therefore, choosing famous landmarks as the MV setting is considered risky if the investment is too large but the results are not commensurate.

Fortunately, the effect of products choosing famous filming locations is real through the lively comments of the audience about the filming scenes, where viewers more or less know when they watch a related movie. That effect partly helps the music product get closer to the audience. For example, after the MV of Hoa Minzy and Son Tung M-TP was released, the number of young people visiting and taking photos at An Dinh Palace or Hue National School increased sharply in a short time, creating a trend on social networks, increasing the number of searches on Google.

In 2023, singer Quach Beem released the MV "Ha Giang oi" made in the land of the Fatherland's border, Ha Giang. This is the first MV in the male singer's project of composing songs about 63 provinces and cities.

This is also the way many singers do it today and has achieved good results like "Khoi lam chieu" by Ha Thom. Den Vau is also an artist who actively exploits the beauty of many regions in his "million view" MVs: Dien Bien in "Nau com cho em", Da Lat in "Di ve nha", Hoi An, Quang Nam in "Mang tien ve cho me"... and most recently, Cat Tien National Park in Dong Nai in the MV "Nhac cua rung".

The good news is that using music to promote tourism has become a strategy of many localities. The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City launched the tourism promotion MV "Wonderful Da Nang", a collaboration between the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City and singer - musician Only C - a son of Da Nang. The MV "Ca Mau is not far away" was produced by the Vietnam Youth Union of Ca Mau Province, the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City introduced the MV "Vietnam the trips" - a song composed by Vicky Nhung, incorporating many images from the trips of travel enthusiasts to promote Vietnam tourism.

Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that creating content based on local tourism combined with music will contribute to promoting tourism. Introducing the Vietnamese context combined with Vietnamese culture through music is a way to contribute to spreading love for the homeland, connecting Vietnamese culture with the young community who love V.pop abroad.
