On December 20 and 21, 2024, Thanh Son commune (Ba Che district) organized the 3rd San Chay Ethnic Cultural Festival of Thanh Son commune, associated with the 6th Ba Che District Ethnic Sports Tournament in 2024 with many exciting and engaging activities; attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to participate.
With the highlight being the art program with the theme “Soong Co - Love from melodies”, the Festival recreated typical rituals of the San Chay ethnic group such as: The ritual of praying for good harvest, praying for favorable rain, wind, and a good golden season; Soong Co singing, Tac Xinh dance, and Xuc Tom dance.
Within the framework of the Festival, the Organizing Committee also recreated the traditional wedding ceremony. Not only a spiritual and cultural activity, the San Chay people's wedding customs also express the feelings, ethics, lifestyle, and behavior between people and people, between people and beautiful nature.
Visitors to the Festival can also immerse themselves in the cultural space with many activities imbued with the identity of the San Chay people such as: Rice cake pounding competition, Cooc Mo cake wrapping; display of food trays...; visit and shop at booths of endemic agricultural products, medicinal herbs; OCOP products of the district; experience the San Chay ethnic cultural space including: traditional stilt houses and production tools, utensils; display and introduce local endemic agricultural products.
The festival is held annually to contribute to preserving and promoting, introducing and promoting the cultural beauty of the San Chay people in Ba Che district; at the same time, it is an opportunity for people to exchange, learn, share experiences, restore, preserve, promote national cultural identity and develop local tourism.
Also on this occasion, the Ba Che District Culture and Communication Center organized the 2024 National Sports Tournament, with the participation of many athletes from 7 communes and towns in the district, competing in 5 national sports, including: tug of war, crossbow shooting, stick pushing, shuttlecock throwing and running over hills and mountains.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded First, Second and Third prizes in each competition to athletes with high achievements.
