For a long time, Hung Yen oranges have been sought after by sophisticated consumers in the capital, however, in the past, the output of Hung Yen oranges was very low because oranges were mainly grown in Khoai Chau and Van Giang districts with small areas. In recent years, the orange growing area of the province has been continuously expanded, currently oranges are grown in 8/10 districts of the city with a total area of about 2,000 hectares, with an estimated output of over 20,000 tons.

To improve the quality of oranges, meeting the demands of consumers in and outside the province, more and more orange farms have been established in the province with modern production and intensive farming processes according to Vietgap and organic standards, providing products that are good in quality, beautiful in appearance and safe for consumers. Orange growing areas have been expanded to localities such as Van Giang, Khoai Chau, Kim Dong, Phu Cu districts, Hung Yen city... Through trade promotion activities organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, Hung Yen oranges are increasingly known and trusted by consumers nationwide.

Continuing the series of events promoting the consumption of longan and agricultural products of the province, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hung Yen province organizes the 2024 Hung Yen Orange Market at Ecopark Urban Area - a model urban area for green, safe and healthy living - to continue to introduce, promote and affirm the quality of Hung Yen orange products in particular and citrus fruits in general, rural industrial products, and craft villages of the province to consumers.

“This is also an opportunity for cooperatives, gardeners, production households, and businesses producing and trading Hung Yen oranges to exchange and listen to consumers' comments on the products to continuously improve product quality and service methods to bring Hung Yen oranges to the next level,” Mr. Vu Quang Thang emphasized.

Consumers love the product

It has become a tradition that in recent years, at the end of November and the beginning of December, people in Ecopark Urban Area look forward to agricultural and regional specialty markets, including the Hung Yen Orange Market. Talking to reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen (a resident of Ecopark Urban Area) shared that there are many types of oranges on the market, but oranges grown in Hung Yen still have their own characteristics such as thin skin, yellow pulp, juicy, sweet and very fragrant, so I really like them. Besides, Hung Yen oranges are grown locally so the price is very competitive. Every year, at this time, I go buy oranges for my family and as gifts. "Each season has its own food, seasonal fruits in Vietnam are very rich, fresh and good for health" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen happily shared.
