Welcoming the students, Mr. Kevin Moore, CEO of VWS introduced the establishment process and waste treatment process at Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Complex (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) such as leachate treatment plant, plant to collect and generate electricity from landfill gas, recycling plant...
Currently, Da Phuoc Waste Treatment Complex receives and processes about 6,000 tons of waste for Ho Chi Minh City every day using American sanitary landfill technology. The amount of waste VWS processes each day accounts for about 70% of the total waste in Ho Chi Minh City. An important part of VWS's waste treatment is recycling waste into products such as compost, electricity generation, etc.

Lecturer Phan Thanh Thuan, Environmental Engineering, Can Tho University, said the purpose of the VWS visit was to help students have a more practical and thorough view of the works and processes of wastewater treatment, water supply, solid waste, leachate, etc. serving the field of study and in the near future, students will research specialized knowledge.
"Over the years, Can Tho University has collaborated with VWS many times to help students learn and experience; at least each course, students will visit VWS once. In my opinion, VWS is really modern. Although this is a waste and garbage treatment company, with high technology, they have very good control over odors and waste treatment processes," said this lecturer.

"When I came to VWS, I felt like I learned and understood more about many new knowledge parts that serve my major very well. VWS is truly an ideal destination for students, with many interesting and useful things. I hope I will be able to come back here many more times, apply the knowledge that I have directly acquired to my major, and help protect the environment," Phuong Thuy shared.
