On behalf of the Embassy of Japan, Ms. Kamitani Naoko expressed her joy to welcome Ambassador Luan Thuy Duong and the delegation of students from the Diplomatic Academy to visit the Japanese Cultural Information Center and exchange with the Embassy, and share about the diplomatic work between Vietnam and Japan with stories about the close relationship between Vietnam and Japan.
At the exchange, students listened to Embassy representatives introduce Japan's cultural diplomacy policy, communication work and special programs and activities organized by the Embassy, in a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam (1973-2023).

Students of the Diplomatic Academy were also introduced and given a Manga comic book by the Center - a type of culture loved by children and adults in both Japan and Vietnam, about the special love story between Princess Ngoc Hoa of the Nguyen Dynasty and a Japanese merchant from 400 years ago.
The main theme that the Embassy of Japan chose for the communication promotion of Japanese Culture to the Vietnamese people was "UNDERSTANDING", with the desire to emphasize the cultural similarities and historical connections between the two nations. Around this theme, the Embassy of Japan also posed quiz questions and shared feelings about the Vietnam - Japan relationship with the diplomatic students.

Speaking at the exchange, Ambassador Luan Thuy Duong expressed her sincere thanks for the warm welcome of the Japan Cultural Information Center as well as the Embassy for the delegation. The Ambassador also mentioned the keyword "LOVE" expressing the deep affection and love for Japanese culture of the Vietnamese people.
At the end of the exchange, the students visited the cultural exhibition space, with paintings about Japan, its people, as well as Japanese dolls, and heard an introduction about Kimono - the traditional costume of Japan.

Today, the relationship between Vietnam and Japan is not only a comprehensive strategic partnership but also a close friendship with a strong historical imprint. The Embassy of Japan hopes that the exchange will not only spread the understanding of Japanese culture to the Vietnamese people but also lay the foundation for deeper and more sustainable cultural connections between the two communities. Hopefully, future generations of the two countries will inherit and develop the Vietnam-Japan relationship in a positive and meaningful way.
