On October 24, Mr. Hoang Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, informed that the consulting unit had completed about 80% of the work volume of inspecting the Dak N'ting reservoir.
Specifically, the completed work items are geological and topographic surveys, concrete quality testing, and bridge load testing.
The consulting unit is completing the content of the file assessment, calculation, testing, analysis, determining the cause of the construction incident and providing solutions.

The above works are carried out by the consulting unit, the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering under the Vietnam Academy of Water Resources, and are expected to be completed on October 30, 2024.
After the consulting unit completes the work, the provincial Appraisal Team will appraise, determine the cause, and propose solutions expected in January 2025.

The Dak N'ting reservoir project has a total investment of 137 billion VND, from the capital source of the climate change and green growth target program for the 2016-2020 period and counterpart funds from the local budget.

In August 2023, this project suffered a landslide. On the hillside on the right shoulder of the spillway, a large slide appeared, hundreds of meters long; the concrete on both sides of the roof and bridge deck of the project was cracked...
This is a reservoir with a large basin area of over 49km 2 , with a reservoir capacity of just over 2.3 million m 3 . The project's goal is to provide water for 680 hectares of crops and domestic water for about 1,000 households. The project is invested by the Dak Nong Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
