Vietnamese track and field stars are overwhelmed with emotion at the flag-raising ceremony of the Tien Phong Marathon.

Solemnly facing the sacred national flag, the golden girl of Vietnamese athletics Nguyen Thi Oanh confided: "I am extremely proud to attend the flag-raising ceremony and the opening of Tien Phong Marathon 2025. Especially when standing on the banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai of the heroic land of Quang Tri, I, like all the other athletes, feel more deeply the sacrifices and losses of many previous generations, thereby reminding myself to try harder, to contribute more to be worthy of our predecessors".

Meanwhile, famous runner from Phu Yen, Le Thi Tuyet, said that participating in Tien Phong Marathon helped her understand more about the history, national traditions and the resilience of many previous generations. That gave her more strength to strive for each kilometer of the race.

Many people from Quang Tri also attended the flag-raising ceremony and the opening of the Tien Phong Marathon. The tournament will officially take place tomorrow with the participation of 7,000 athletes. Nguyen Thi Oanh and Le Thi Tuyet are strong candidates for the championship title in the events in which they both participated.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, believes that more than 7,000 athletes will have an excellent competition day, creating new breakthroughs for themselves.
