Ready for the journey of Ha Tinh youth with the sea and islands of the homeland

The journey "Ha Tinh Youth with the sea and islands of the homeland" is scheduled to be held on January 30 at Son Duong Island, Ky Loi Commune (Ky Anh Town) as one of the highlights responding to the campaign launched by the Central Youth Union.

The campaign "Pride of a country" was launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union from December 2023 to 2025 and will be maintained in the following years.

The main activity implemented is for union members and young people to hang maps of the Fatherland at places of study, work, and living, contributing to raising awareness of national sovereignty.

In Ha Tinh, the campaign was not only implemented by hanging maps but also by children and youth throughout the province with many meaningful and practical activities.

In particular, during the peak week from January 22 to 30, 2024, all levels of the Youth Union, Association and Team organized a campaign to clean up the marine environment; draw a map of Vietnam; assemble a map of Vietnam; decorate models of islands and seas; organize forums, flag-raising activities, and conferences to propagate national sovereignty over islands and seas; draw a map of Vietnam, assemble a map of Vietnam, decorate models of islands and seas; present national flags, life buoys, life jackets, signal lights, and livelihood models to support fishermen at sea... Up to now, there have been more than 350 projects and tasks of young people responding to the peak week.

The highlight of the peak week responding to the campaign was the journey of youth towards the homeland's sea and islands taking place on Son Duong island, Ky Loi commune (Ky Anh town).

To implement this activity, all levels of the provincial Youth Union actively promoted it on social networks by simultaneously changing avatars, cover photos, and posting infographics to create a widespread influence on cyberspace.

Along with that, the youth of the whole province have actively mobilized resources to implement meaningful projects to donate to the soldiers of Son Duong island such as: solar power projects to provide electricity for daily life of officers and soldiers; donating electronic devices and necessities for the life and activities of officers and soldiers working on the island... with a total resource value of nearly 400 million VND.

Children across the province wrote letters, drew pictures and prepared gifts to send to officers and soldiers on Son Duong island.

In addition, many special performances will be performed by outstanding artists and young people, bringing early spring to Son Duong island.

Mr. Nguyen Van Linh - Secretary of Huong Son District Youth Union said: "Responding to the peak week of "Ha Tinh Youth is proud of a strip of mountains and rivers", the Youth Union and Team organizations in the whole district simultaneously organized to present maps to the cultural houses of the villages; hung maps in the offices, classrooms, and traditional rooms of the Youth Union, Association, and Team organizations; organized thematic activities, flag-salute activities, and extracurricular activities to propagate the border and islands of the Fatherland; coordinated to organize the programs "Spring of the Border Guard, Warming the Hearts of the Villagers", giving Tet gifts to Youth Union members and households in difficult circumstances in the border communes.

The youth of the whole district also wrote letters, drew pictures, contributed to making meaningful gifts to send to soldiers on Son Duong island, and donated to support the solar power youth project on the island...”.

Sending pure feelings to the cadres and soldiers on Son Duong island, the team members and children in the whole province also wrote letters, drew pictures, and made items from recycled materials to give to the cadres and soldiers. From there, it created a great source of spiritual encouragement, motivating the cadres and soldiers who are performing the sacred task of protecting the sky and sea of ​​the Fatherland; at the same time, multiplying the pride of a strip of mountains and rivers, the love for the Fatherland of Vietnam in each team member and child today.

Le Minh Bao Han, class 5A, Bac Ha Primary School (Ha Tinh city) shared: "We are very happy and proud to contribute a small part of ourselves to send gifts to the officers and soldiers who are on duty day and night on Son Duong island to protect the peace of the fatherland."

These meaningful works and tasks contribute to propagating and educating cadres and youth union members about the sovereignty of the sea and islands, strengthening the strength of national unity, firmly protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland. At the same time, they arouse the tradition of patriotism, sense of national pride, self-respect, solidarity, initiative and creativity of cadres and youth union members. Hopefully, these meaningful gifts will contribute to encouraging and motivating cadres and soldiers at Son Duong Island to work with peace of mind as well as to welcome a joyful and warm Tet in the arms of comradeship, team spirit, and love between the army and the people.

Participating in this special journey were many outstanding cadres, union members, and young people in the fields of study, training, work, labor, creativity, scientific research... representing the youth of the whole province. This will be a channel to spread love for the homeland, the sea and islands, and national pride after returning from the trip."
