In the first quarter of 2025, the livestock industry in Thai Binh province continued to develop steadily with the total herd of livestock and poultry increasing slightly compared to the same period last year.

The total herd of buffalo and cows reached 60.7 thousand (up 1.6%), the herd of pigs reached 695 thousand (up 1.1%) and the herd of poultry reached 14 million (up 1.5%). The output of fresh meat for slaughter also recorded positive growth, of which buffalo and cow meat increased by 5.7%, pork increased by 6.3%, poultry increased by 6.2% and egg production increased by 3.5%.
The province has maintained a stable 1,558 livestock farms and chains linked to 5 large enterprises. Cooperative and cooperative group models continue to be consolidated, contributing to improving production efficiency.
Regarding disease prevention and control, Thai Binh province has strictly controlled the African swine fever situation, especially promptly detecting and handling the outbreak in Dong Hung district. The vaccination program for livestock and poultry was implemented as planned with more than 500,000 doses of various vaccines. Environmental sanitation and disinfection work was also carried out seriously, with nearly 14,000 liters of chemicals distributed throughout the province.
Thanks to proactive measures, the province's livestock industry is maintaining stability, ensuring food supply and contributing to sustainable agricultural development.
