Full of joy
Mr. Ngo Le Bang, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, former General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), was still overwhelmed with emotion when witnessing the final match of the TNSV THACO Cup 2024 on the afternoon of March 31. " Thanh Nien Newspaper organized it so well, a tournament that could not be criticized in any way, from the way of management, gathering forces to expertise, propaganda, everything was very grand and spread many emotions. Just the leaders of the Government, ministries and Ho Chi Minh City coming to witness and share the joy also showed the tremendous influence of the tournament. This shows the love and passion for students and football of the Thanh Nien Newspaper staff and the active professional participation of the VFF along with the support of many sponsors have resonated well, concentrating all forces to create a wonderful atmosphere that is both beautiful on the field, full of joy and leaving many interesting echoes," said Mr. Bang.
Impressive awards ceremony
The stands of Ton Duc Thang University were filled with spectators in the final match of the TNSV THACO Cup 2024 on March 31.
Expert Doan Minh Xuong commented: "The final match between the two teams of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports and the University of Water Resources, although there were no goals, was a good and thrilling match, captivating from beginning to end, taking viewers from one level of emotion to another of excitement and attraction. Looking at all 22 final matches and 87 previous qualifying matches, I have to say that everything was wonderful, most of the matches were good, the teams played enthusiastically, there were many surprises and the professionalism was higher than in 2023. In the context of economic difficulties, Thanh Nien Newspaper, together with Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company and many other sponsors, actively maintained this tournament for more than 3 consecutive months, stretching from North to South... really brought a grand football party for student football, creating a meaningful and practical playground".
The numbers speak for themselves.
More than 1.5 million views for 22 matches of the THACO Cup 2024 TNSV Finals, of which the final match had about 300,000 views just counting livestreams on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube of Thanh Nien Newspaper. That's not counting the number of viewers on television, which reached millions. These numbers have really brought great joy to the tournament, showing that student football with its tireless fighting spirit, dedication, and fair play style is always interested, followed, and has a place in the hearts of fans.
Exciting final match
VFF Supervisor Le Van Quoc said: "I see that not only students but also football-loving audiences really like student football. They watch passionately and also comment animatedly and enthusiastically about each match, each move, each player. When all the matches are broadcast live like that, it makes the hearts of the viewers beat together."
With 399 goals in 109 matches (an average of 3.66 goals/match), the quality of the matches from the qualifying round to the final round is all attacking, creating excitement. Expert Doan Minh Xuong said: "Goals are the color of football. Many goals on one hand show the high appeal of the match, on the other hand bring exciting emotions to the audience. Even in a few matches, despite the difference in scores, such as the semi-final match in which Thuy Loi University defeated Ton Duc Thang University 4-0, there were still very good goals, even with many dramatic moments such as when Thuy Loi University had only 10 people left. That said, the matches at the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament are indeed very exciting and unpredictable."
Deputy General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation Hoang Ngoc Tuan said: "With a tournament that is so well organized and so professional like the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament, I see that even though the referees have to work at a high intensity continuously, everyone has shown their ability, accuracy and objectivity. The number of 15 red cards and 305 yellow cards from 109 qualifying matches to the finals is not much. The teams participating in this year's tournament have truly brought a dedicated, devoted style of play and always served the fans well."
